Help with Bloodwork Results Medical People???

    Can anyone tell me what these results mean?? My doc said everything was normal, then I get this report with these abnormalities - I don't want to call this guy, because I didn't like him, and won't see him again

    Anti Nuclear AB Titer 1:40 Speckled

    ANACHOICE TM Screen w/refl titer IFA - Positive

    EBV Nuclear AG (EBNA (IGG) - >5 (Positive)

    Epstein-Barr VCA IGG AB - 5 - Positive

    Epstein Barr VCA IGM AB - <.91 (Equivocal)

    EBV DNA QL RT-PCR Not Detected

    I am not a doctor (or a nurse) but based on my lab results, it looks to me that you have had exposure to EBV in the past but that you do not have an active infection.

    (this does not mean you do not have other viral or bacterial issues)

    I cannot comment on the ANA values but ANA is used for autoimmune issues - lupus, RA. But I do believe the quantity is taken into account.

    Put these labs in a notebook, and take with you to every doctor's appt.

    You may still have EBV infection. However, I am more familiar with the test results from Focus Diagnostics lab. There is info at You might consider getting retested for EBV and HHV-6 at Focus diagnostics lab.
