I also come from Southern Ireland.

I have been on this Message Board for about two years and have learnt a lot about FM.

Its great to know you are not alone.

I have had FM for about 20 years, but didnt know what it was until I saw this Website.

I dont go to any Specialist and am taking Elavil for about 8 years. It really helped me to get a good nights sleep. It also helps with my TMJ problem and Nerve Pain and also Restless Leg Syndrume.

You need your nights sleep as your muscles need to relax....

I come from Cork City originally but moved to Youghal which is in East Cork last February.

I dont miss the city one bit. I have had enough of crowds and this place is lovely.

I paint and there are some lovely sea views here to paint.

Hope you get the help here I have.

It is a great Site and you will get all the help you need.

    Hi Bronagh
I live in scotland but all my family on my mothers side live in wexford ,we try to go to Wexford once a year for two weeks .My parents are off to Wexford on tues ,it is a small world indeed. I spent most of March.April and May over there last year looking after a sick relative that sadly died. I was back in july for a wedding but FM was bad so that spoiled it for me.

    Hi Kathleen,

Isn't it a small world indeed, i bet i know your family, if you don't want to give any info that is ok i understand.

I find it great here since i joined, i've learned so much in such a short time.

I've had Fibro for years and back trouble, have only been properly diagnosed by a Rheumatologist lately.

I will be going for Physio and the hospitals Fibro Program soon, i'm tired of being a couch potato, i want to try and do some form of exercise whatever that will be :)

    Lovely to hear from you.

I dont live in Cork City anymore. I am living now about an hours drive away.

I joined the support group in Cork but got more help here from this Message board.

What part of Wexford are you in.

My Grandfather is buried in Kilrane, near Rosslare Harbour. My Mother and Father met in Rosslare Harbour when it was my Fathers first teaching job.

    Take care,
    Love Mary

I live in Wexford town, it's a 15 minute walk from where i live to the town centre, needless to say i don't walk much :)

It's a pity there isn't an online Fibro support in Ireland, i think Ireland is just catching up on Fibro, i suppose there are a lot of medical that still don't recognize Fibro, i'm not sure.

Rosslare is a 15-20 minute drive from me.

    Thanks Mary,

    Bronagh :)

Lovely to read your reply ,my relatives are mostly in the town, kings street, parnell street ,williams street,st ediths terrace, joseph street . I usually go over in october for the opera festival. I tend to hire a cottage in Rosslare so not to be under any of my relatives feet. I will not be over this October ,but hope to make it next year. Feel free to keep in touch ,it is lovely knowing i can picture where you live in my minds eye .
