Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia a couple of months ago (though I think I've had it for many years). I work full time, am married and the proud mother of two little boys.

I am really excited to find this board! I'm looking forward to learning from others' experiences and getting to know people who deal with the same issues I do.

So glad you found us, Nonnie. Yes, we all have many of the same issues no matter what age we might be. We just have different twists to how we manage to live each day.

Thanks for introducing yourself...look forward to knowing you better.

    Take Care,

I signed on about 4 weeks ago and have enjoyed all the friendly people, and to mention the help and ideas they have. I am sure you will find a sence of security here, as each of us go through the similar difficulties you may have too. Support is the key word here, and I must say,
I have been grateful for each person who has posted a message, be it funny, sad, or some where in between.
I believe you have come to the right place.
All the best to you, as you deal with this disease, and raise your little ones. Glad you here.......
write anytime, it's great therapy.... and a wonderful way to bond with people and not feel shy.
I pray for your well being and have a terrific, pain free day. I hope also your family is supporting you during these times. You are so young. Keep fighting, one day there will be more medical answers and we will be free of this miserable DD. (darn disease).
Bye for now,,,,, hd (aka: georgette)

My boys are Matthew (4 1/2) and Christopher (2 1/2). I work in accounting, so I'm at a desk/computer all day. Since much of my FM pain is in my hands and arms, this is making work very interesting....

I also have migraine headaches. I've been taking Topamax for these for about 16 months, but in spite of a recent increase in dose I am still getting 10-12 migraines per month. Between the migraines and the FM pain, I am really having a hard time functioning. My husband lost his job a couple of months ago and can't even collect unemployment, so my income is all we have until he can get another job. (Right now he is a "stay-at-home-dad," so at least we don't have to pay for daycare.)

It is hard to explain to little kids why Mom can't roughhouse with them sometimes...or go with them and Daddy to the park on a really bright, sunny day...or why sometimes she has to stay home from church on Sunday. :-(
My mother-in-law, who just moved here from Florida about two weeks ago, doesn't really understand it either....

Hi I am also new here. My name is Lorraine and I live in England. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 6 months ago but like you think I have had it for several years, but finally was sent to see a specialist when it became a lot worse.

I am also excited about finding this board and like you hope to learn from other peoples' experiences.

    Hope to keep in touch
