hi I'm new here i just wanted to know if anyone out there is having the same trouble as i am. I have had FM for about 2 years now and even tho the hospital physio's have put me into hydrotherapy 3x a week my condition seems to be deteriorating. All the doc's and specialists tell me that by reducing my stress blocks and doing things gently (exercise) I should be able to beat this. But all other people i speak to with FM seem to tell a different story. can anyone help clear this up for me?

Hi Nini, welcome to our world. Glad you found our board.

I can't help with the Hydrotherapy, but I do take Pro Energy, Malic Acid and Magnesium, and ZMA by SNAC for sleep and pain. It has been a God send for the pain, and the ZMA has been wonderful for deep sleep.
Both can be purchased here at Pro Health, just go to the 'Store' link at the top right of the board here and you can read about both supplements.

I have had Fibro for over twenty years now, and this is the most relief that I have ever found.

Again, welcome to the board, and please feel free to ask all the questions you have, thats what we are here for.

    Shalom, Shirl

I am pretty new here...too, and you have come to a great place for support. I do wholeheartedly agree with your Docs when they tell you to reduce stress. I think this holds true of any illness, also. In my opinion, and please keep in mind, this is my opinion only, I think FM can be managed, and a better quality of life attained. Someday, I do have hopes that a cause and cure will be discovered. I too, think excercise, is another ingredient in our health issues. Excercise geared to each individual is important. What one is capable of another is not. I take conventional meds, and supplements, as well as alternative. I don't think there is any perfect regime for all---each must pattern there own treatment to meet their individual needs.
There are all sorts of wonderful past posts, that give lots of methods on what members are doing. Search for those things that are of interest to you--and implement those that may seem good. Nice meeting you!

Your doctors are correct - by reducing stress and doing gentle exercise you will feel better. But - I don't think you can "beat" FMS. You will always have it, but how you react to it is a major factor. I was on vacation for a few days at a friend's house in Florida, and while I was there I was in NO pain!!!! I couldn't believe it when I realized it! I did no cooking, washing, cleaning, etc. Of course I can't "be on vacation" forever, but it did help me see that I need to reduce my stress level. Light exercise will boost your endorphins and stretch your muscles. Even if you're in pain, you can walk very slowly. Everyone deals with FMS in different ways - negative thinking doesn't help it. When I'm in a flare I try to remember that eventually it will go away.
