Hoarse voice

I have had problems with hoarseness for some time. The ENT put a tube down my nose, and ruled out polyps, etc. He decided it was allergy (which I have had for years), so he put me on medication. No help. Next I have been taking drugs for GERD, although I have no symptoms. I took an over the counter pill for a month with no results, and am now on a prescription medication. Since I do have Hashimoto's thyroid disease and already take a daily pill, I am at a loss. I will see a thyroid specialist next week just to rule everything out. Now I am thinking that this is just another of the pleasures of fibromyalgia. Does anyone else have a similar problem? Does it take a long time to heal the throat after treatment for GERD begins. Thanks for any help!

I too have Hashimoto's and FM along with the hoarse voice thing. I also have a phlemy throat and sinus issues, but supposingly no infections. So perhaps, as you said, it's just another one of those "pleasures" we get because of our malfunctions. Good luck on your sore throat!

Yes, I have a hoarse voice too. Been that way off and on since 1997. I have had the camera down to look at my voice box, seen an ENT, an allergist, been on GERD meds, had GERD surgery and also take thyroid meds.
