Has anyone ever notice during a long episode that you hold your breath? I do this without realizing it. I am more aware of it when I am in a concentrating situation such as driving or working on the computer.

I have a tendancy to do this when I am in lots of pain or stress. I hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it.
I also have a little sleep apnea as well. Are the two related? I don't know...

You aren't alone. It's a weird thing. It's a habit. I wouldn't call it bad like biting your nails or pulling out your own hair, but probably not good.

    take care.

    your friend,
    fun

It's nice to know I'm not crazy or alone.

That and taking short breaths. My physical therapist urged me to practice deep breathing more and it helps when I am stressed and/or not feeling well.

No, Johnna you aren't crazy or alone. I found myself doing it this morning. I do it when I get mad as well. Guess it is like a kid having a temper tantrum...ha ha..

here's to a pain free day for all.

    love your friend,
    fun ;)

... that I'm doing the same thing! I also take very shallow breaths, so I'm trying to concentrate on breathing properly, especially when I'm walking.

    lookingoutthewindow:

I keep my breathing very low when i am concentrating on something. Also (or the same) I am trying to fend off a panic attack.
