Be sure y'all read the end of Volume 137, to see posts from Leah, Mikie, Granni, etc.!
Be looking out at snow than at the gray, hot and humid weather here. If it's going to be bleak, it ought to at least be cooler. I swept the whole balcony, eaves, walls and floor, and cleaned the lantern light fixtures. I came in sweating like a pig (I know, I know; pigs don't sweat). Barb returns today or tomorrow (can't remember which) and I want the balcony clean for her. She's so thrilled with the socializing going on out there that she likes to keep it clean. Our shade tree is a Cinnamon tree and they drop a lot of leaves and blooms. It's worth it because it gives us our afternoon shade. I was too tired to clean but felt that if I didn't, I wouldn't feel any better later or tomorrow.
I went to Publix for some things and on to Costco for the rest. I got boxes at Costco and put Mom's collector dishes in them. I took them, and some other things to the church thrift store. Now, I can finish cleaning out the walk-in closet. I'm too bushed to do it today. This cleaning stuff is gonna take a while. I'm glad those dishes are gone. No one is even bidding on them on eBay. I talk to my Mom all the time and told her to let me know if it is OK to get rid of her things. I know it is but feel a bit bad about it. I walked out to look at the pond and there was a big bird out there and a rainbow in our fountain--both signs Mom sends me. So, I feel better about it. I pity my kids when they have to go through my things.
Speaking of talking to the dead, does anyone else watch "Long Island Medium?" She is soooo funny but also so very talented at what she does. It isn't "Masterpiece Theatre" but it's good to watch some escape TV now and then. My TV worked for two days and is again having the black lines across the screen so it wasn't the old outlet. I'll have to dig up the warranty info and call for repair. There is nothing good on TV and won't be til after New Years. Just another thing going wrong lately. I try not to focus on the negative but seems like these things come in groups. At least, my fungal infection is clearing up, albeit slowly.
Sending y'all Happy New Year wishes. I said a special prayer for all of us today as it seems so many of us could use it. Hope the New Year bings better things for all of us. Think I'll go soak in some Epsom Salts; I ache all over. I may play Angry Birds on my KF. I downloaded it for free yesterday. Hope I never completely grow up.
Mikie and Diane - glad to see you here at least for the time being. Hope some more peeps pop in again soon but I know many are either in cold weather and or having company or off from work, visiting or whatever. Itis cold enough here in TX. I am waiting for the warmer weather again. Sorry but the bosy just can't take the cold stuff.
Diane - Thanks for starting up again. I have been popping in and out of the Lounge and Porch lately. I get tired of talking to myself, so here I am but I know people are busy and doing other things or not feeling well enough to post or whatever. The blankeys and lounge chairs sound good too.
Mikie - Glad your fungus or whatever is getting better. That is good.
Speaking of Angry Birds what apps do you all have? I got DH's smart phone but really donpt want to many but just want to try a few and see how it goes. My grandson has Angry Birds on his computer. That is cute. Don't want to play games all day, to much to do but might be fun once in awhile. I just have email and FB and a recipe one so far.
Nice day for hot soup. Made something new today and sill see how it is with ground turkey and 3 beans, onions and green pepper, water and or ch. broth and spices of course. Will let you all know how it is. I agree with you Mikie about TV. For me that is a lot of the time but during the regular year I miss the dancing with the stars anyway. Like osme of the cooking shoes and food - yummy. There are so many shows that are reality and many are stupid at least to me so I don't bother. You younger ones might like them.
Bye for now see you ALL later. Hi Freida, Pam, Rock and whoever else I may have missed. Will now go and check the POrch !!
Bye for now. Hope all stay happy and healathy !
I don't have anything else. I just got my KF and don't play games on my computer. Just got a smartphone with touchscreen and wi-fi but I tried to download apps and couldn't. I'd rather play games on the KF anyway.
I have a Wii but have found the games just too difficult, having to use the controller AND the numchuck. The Wii is fine for dancing to and for exercise and games like skiing and tennis, etc.; however, if ones knows how to ski, for instance, the moves are entirely different. Still, it's fun and I can work up a sweat when I'm up to it. Worked up plenty of sweat yesterday cleaning the balcony. I got exercise and something cleaned at the same time.
The best thing was being able to give my Mom's things to a thrift shop where more upscale people shop and might be more inclined to pay more for good collectibles. Also, the profits are used for good purposes.
I've had a dry cough and figured the Red Tide was back. Sho 'nuff, the newspaper said it's coming back although, it never really left but was such a low count that we didn't notice it. I'm pretty sensitive to it and I'm hacking. I've taken an allergy pill to help with the hack. Between the cold and the Red Tide, the tourists and Snowbirds are getting shortchanged this year.
I'm still in jammes at noon. My usual Sun. protocol is to watch CBS Sunday Morning Show and a couple of political shows. I also read the Sunday paper and do the puzzles. Nothing on TV but am watching "Moonstruck" for the umteenth time. I love it.
The stomach bug keeps coming back and it's hitting me again today. I'm starting to feel warm. My kids in Atlanta are still getting it off and on. This has been going on since Thanksgiving. Yikes!
Granni, enjoy your soup.
Sounds like you did alot for someone whose tummy and is on the blink and has a cough. Hope you are not getting a fever, even just a low grade one. I might have had the flu 2x this year in Nov. but it was URI type. I got on two differnt antibiotics and not sure that did anything. It took me aobut a week each time to get rid of the low grade fever. of course I almost always have some kind of a cough. I am sure I have allergies but never have been tested. I have a post nasal drip most of the time when supposedly not ill. I hardly ever get tummy problems ( knock on wood) !!
If you cough a lot and are trying to get it loose to get rid of it take Mucinex. That has been really helpful to me. They have it in all different doses and combinations of stuff, no matter what the symptoms. Hope that won't upset your tunny though. If so you might try it with food.
Take care of yourself sweetie and enjoy what you love to do, whatever it is. Gail is trying snorkeling and hope she gets to liking it. Not for me but we are all different and different ages for sure.
I don't know much abouat the apps but am interested to see what they have but once things start to hum again after the holidays I may not have that much time.
Hope someone else pops in to say hi- Diane, Pam, Rock, Frieda, and anyone else.
May EVERYONE have a wonderful and blessed new year to come. We are going out with 2 couples for NYE but I knowit won't be late one and we have church the next morning too !!

Been down with a flu bug a few days. Woke up feeling 'good' today Thought I was really sick, running a temp....so I took it. Nope, 96.3. Hubby said it's no wonder I'm cold all the time..lol.
We're suppose to have our family Christmas tomorrow, and wouldn't you know, there's a snowstorm coming in. We can deal with a few inches, but 5+ is more than I want any of us on the road with, especially the ones with little ones and my preggy DD. Will check the weather in the morning early, before we decide to go or cancel it for 2 weeks. So disappointing to everyone if we don't get together. The kids all love their cousins!
Other than that, nothing going on.
Mikie, I'm like you with my mom's things. It going on 7 years, and I'm just now able to turn over her good jewelry to my one DD. I just keep picturing her wearing some of it, and wanted to keep it. But it sure isn't doing anyone any good sitting in my dresser drawer, and I sure don't go anywhere to wear it. Other than that, mostly pictures and Christmas decorations that I use left. My kids have taken everything else.
Granni, good to see you here. You keep on going girl, I know you don't think you're that busy, but you sure sound busy to me
Diane, I always love your posts, and know you share that cold weather with me, unfortunately.
Rock, Barry, Leah, Pam and whomever else I might have missed, hope your New Years are wonderful. Hugs to all.
Granni, I'm sorry you've been sick. I am not running a temp. The hack is from the Red Tide, even though I did have a cold right after Thanksgiving. What keeps coming back is the stomach thing for my kids and me. We just can't seem to shake it. I take Corcidin HBP for the allergies, including Red Tide. It doesn't raise blood pressure and it works great. When I had the cold, I did take Nyquil for several nights so I could sleep. It did better than that; it reset my sleep pattern which had gone haywire after my head injury. Just read that Hillary Clinton has a blood clot from her concussion. I'm praying that she will be OK. Geez, I never thought about a blood clot when I had mine. Yikes!
I hope Gail likes snorkling. Unfortunately, the Gulf isn't very clear water (I call it a sewer Down in the Keys in the Caribbean, it's so much prettier and clearer. I like to snorkle as much as I like diving. I haven't done either in a long time. I am hoping to do a kayak day trip on one of our rivers or the intracoastal waterways. I need to do it in a two-person kayak with someone who can take over paddling if I can't keep it up. They have all kinds of trips for all levels so I'm pretty sure they'll have one for a weak old woman.
Jole, I hope you feel better. Seems we always get sick at the worst times. Then, the threat of a big snowstorm--it ain't fair. When I lived in CO, we had blizzards on holidays for several years in a row. We had guests and we were snowed in for three days. That was before most people had four-wheel drive SUV's. My Mom and MIL played games. For them, it was like the good old days.
I gave most of Mom's good jewelry to my girls right after she died. It has been her collectibles which have caused me to hang on to them. She loved them so much. I finally just decided to clean them out. I ended up keeping a Hummel angel plate, a Norman Rockwell Santa plate and a Royal Copenhagen plate with a cat and a Christmas rose on it. I'll enjoy them without feeling burdened by three boxes full of them. I also kept Mom's Lenox cresh. It's small but really pretty, all in white.
Barb came home yesterday from her cruise. No one got sick and she and our other friend had a good time. I'm glad. Yesterday was the second anniversary of her husband's death. She came over last night to watch the first half of the Patriot's game with me. I kept hoping that Miami would, at least, get one touchdown. I went to the bedroom to watch the rest of the game and fell asleep. I was always a Bronco fan when I lived in Denver but adopted the Pats when I moved down here with all my Boston neighbors. We almost never got Bronco games until the last couple of years. I'm not really a Dolphins fan but I do live here now and don't want to see them humiliate themselves. The good thing about living down here is that there is usually something to do instead of watching games on TV so we aren't as rabid as when we lived in snowy areas.
My condo will continue to be a mess until I finish cleaning that closet. I also have to wash the cushion covers and slipcover on my sofa. It's an honest-to-goodness slipcover sofa and came from the manufacturer that way. It's white so I have to wash it now and then. The cushions are featherbed cushions so when I strip off the covers, there are feathers all over the place. It looks like a chicken processing plant.
I'm in my thick, plushy robe this morning. It's been very cold--for us, 40's in the mornings and only in the 60's or 70's during the day. We're also getting rain and it's our dry season. If global warming keeps up, I'll eventually have a waterside condo
Got an e-mail from Amazon and have to go try their suggestions to try to get my Angry Birds Star Wars Premium HD app downloaded to my KF. I played the regular Angry Birds yesterday and had fun. Barb's been thinking about buying the new Paperwhite Kindle which has a lighted screen. I showed her mine, which looks the same when reading a book and she wasn't sure her eyes could take it. It took me about three days to get used to reading from the lighted screen. She and I have both had old Kindles since they came out. I think they are probably better outside in the daylight. Fortunately, my Kindles can share the same books so I can switch between them, depending on where I'm reading. Now, if I can only get the app to download. This only happens when I buy the apps from my computer and not from the KF itself. I never had this problem downloading books on the old Kindle. Love technology but it seems there are always problems.
Well, dear online family, I hope and pray that 2013 brings us all better things in our lives.
Oh, I had hoped this stomach thing we all have had will clear up. I got up, had coffee on the balcony with Barb, both of us in thick robes and lap blankets. I took a nice hot bath to warm up and went to Bealls. I had a $10 off a $25 purchase and they had a bra sale. It was buy one at regular price and get another for $1. Long story short--I got two nice bras for $28 total. That's cheaper than Hanes at Wal-Mart. I don't wear a bra unless I'm wearing something light colored; I tend to wear black tees a lot Still, I need them sometimes. I only wear cotton down here in the jungle.
I came home and started to finish what I started in my closet. I only worked on it a bit when the stomach started to turn. I had to go dashing to the john. Now, I have a gut full of Pepto. I am sooooo sick of this stuff's returning out of the blue like this. I don't believe it will ever go away.
Glad your girls got their claws clipped. Since Tweets and Sylvester live outside, it's important for them to have sharp claws. As I've mentioned here, I have a really nice scratching post but they insist on using the trees and my welcome mat to sharpen their claws. Sylvester has a deformed foot that is webbed and has no claws. He still runs both paws up and down the trees as though he has them on both feet. I'm not even sure he doesn't know he has none on that foot. He can climb trees almost as well as Tweety does so I guess it's not a problem for him.
Yes, thank you, my rash is so much better. The first salve made it worse but the $92 salve is working great. I guess you get what you pay for. My friend said that for $92, it ought to do my windows.
I don't know what to do. I rested all day yesterday and want to get that closet done today but I feel pretty wiped out, no pun intended. I'm a whiner by nature but this time, I think this stomach thing is whine worthy. The thing is that when I try to do things when I'm not feeling well, everything goes wrong and I often end up injuring myself. Think I'll rest and try to figure out my Kindle problem.
Hope you start feeling better.
We must have been posting at the same time or I completely missed your post. Anything is possible when I feel like this. I have a headache coming on so guess I'll be taking an acetaminophen. I've tried taking only one instead of my usual two tablets and have found one works as well most of the time. Saving a bit of my liver one ache at a time.
I've already ruined one of my little cheapie throw rugs/mats by getting some caulk on it. See, this is what happens when I try to push through feeling sick. I did manage to download my Angry Birds Star Wars game with lots of help from an Amazon customer service e-mail. I printed it out just in case. From now on, I'm only ordering directly from my Kindle and not from my computer. I can look online and then find what I want on the Kindle itself.
What I don't understand is why we don't ever get manuals with these gizmos anymore. Used to be we could do all kinds of things by using the manual. I'm sure kids know how to do it all but a lot of us old folks are buying these things and we need help. The more sophisticated the devices, the less we get in the way of help. The Kindle Fire is super easy to use, that is, until something goes wrong. Then, I'm screwed and not in the good way.
I don't know whether the Nook is better than the Kindle or the other way around. I don't think it matters much if one wants a wi-fi reader but if one wants a 3G, B&N charges for it and Kindle doesn't. Most of these now work only on wi-fi. When I started out with the Kindle, Amazon had a head start so when the KF came out, I stuck to what I know (or thought I knew I may spend another wasted day watching TV, reading and playing Angry Birds.
THIS STOMACH BUG SUCKS BIG TIME!!!
Hope you are feeling better.
Mikie and Diane - it sounds like you two need a big nap !! Laughing at Diane and Kevin's double water added to the pizza dough fiasco, and Mikies poor tummy problems. Iknow that is not alot of fun . I rarely have tummy problems except occasional gas pains from my nemesis constipation but since I added more Mag. that sems to have helped some.
Sorry you had to pay so much $ for something to help your rash but sometimes you have to I guess when nothing else is working.
I am doing OK now but had a double whammy of the URI flu or whatever it was in November and almost didn't have Thanksgiving. Put me out of singing for a while too. Glad Barb didn't get sick too on her cruise.
Hope you feel better soon Mikie and please stay well Diane and Kevin and no more cooking fiascos !!! Have a good rest so you both stay or get well and don't screw up any recipes - he he !
Gotta run and do a few things around here.
Mikie - what have you been eating - soups, maybe hot cereal if you eat it (not me), crackers ?? Remember to kee hydrated and drink a lot, hot tea or whatever you like probably without milk in it. Don't know what kind of symptoms you have been having (upper or lower) problems??
Love to you awl,
Had to cancel our family Christmas plans for today. Gail, we're getting pretty much the same weather as you. We're reaching the 4" mark now, with snow packed and icy roads/interstate. Unfortunately, they're not kept cleared very well. We all trust OUR driving, but it's all the crazies out there. The radio announcer said he was going into work, driving 40 on the snowpacked interstate when a vehicle went around him driving 93 mph (think he was exagerating a bit) and scared him to death. He advised people to stay at home.
I know when those semis go around, it will move your car a bit...not good in these conditions. Especially with little ones and a pregnant mom on the road. We're all sick about it, because our grandson who's in the Air Force got to come home, so we'll all miss seeing him
My one DD was all loaded up and ready to head out when I called her. They live 5 hours from here, and had no snow, but also didn't want to get caught in it once they got here. Now we're all down in the dumps today, but at least everyone is safe, and we're going to try it again in 2 weeks.
Mikie/Gail, this bug is vicious. Felt good for a day, and woke up miserable again. I'm so bloated!! And stomach just rumbles constantly. Glad we're not all together...lol. Speaking of your Kindle, Mikie, mine's an old one with the keyboard. They're not going to be making them anymore, and I love it! Don't think I'd like the lighted ones. My cataracts and glare don't work well.
My DD got a Lexus (notepad? whatever it is) and loves it! She can even borrow my Kindle books, which was a suprise. My GS got a cheap, off brand notebook for Christmas and is in 7th heaven. His mom is happy too, 'cause their computer is ready to crap out, so they won't be completely without.
Gail, I haven't made homemade pizza crust for years. Now I know why...lol. Bet it'll turn out fine, with two great cooks!
Granni, I'm sure happy I had a supply of hot tea, 'cause it's going down fast. I have the boxes with different veraties (why does that look wrong), and enjoy not having to drink the same thing all the time.
Have a Happy New Year!Block is being put up on the house as I write.Milieu hope you shake that bug.Hus just got a second round of vertigo yesterday.A bit better today.Party girl again tonight at BIL brothers down the street.Maybe we could just drop by and leave before midnight.I would much rather sleep then bring in a new yr. right?
I am so sorry to hear that your big family gathering has to be canceled due to the snow storm. You are right tho, it is best to be safe and warm in conditions like those. Then hope it clears up nicely for your next gathering. I know how very frustrating it is when you have a let down like that especially when you do not see them often. Also so sorry your tummy is still bugging you, not fun I know although I rarely get that type of bug but I had better not mention it to loud as there is alot of both kinds going around here too.
Glad you have lots of varieties (I think that spelling is correct )!!! of teas for you to drink. I like the flavored decaff. gree teas with fruit flavors most of the time. I usually drink them in the morning instead of coffee. It is good that they are finally making decaff . teas esp green tea with different flavors. Same as coffee, lots of flavors in reg. but not decaff.
Yes, I agree with you why I have not made my own pizza crust in a VERY long time . We just get the frozen and deal with all the extra stuff they add to it. I know Kevin is trying to watch his salt and probably Diane too now. They make them pretty good now already made in frozen. They used to be not that god but they are pretty good now. However, if you are watching your gluten and other things you have to be careful.
Diane - What kind of crust do you make? Is it gluten free or what. I know DH should probably have whole wheat crust but we don't have it that often and he doesn't always eat the whole crust at the end. At least you have help in the kitchen which is more than I can say for DH. Sometimes he will help but I have to tell him every little thing and most of the time easier just to do myself. Let us know how you crust turned out this time !!!
Love to you both and anyone else that might pop in ! Also, another Happy New Year to All !!
Granni, so sorry you had that URI hanging on. That's miserable. I've been eating pretty normally because I get lured into thinking I'm over this crud and I'll be OK for a few days and then, WHAM! I get sick again. It doesn't last either. I get sick and am over it within a few hours but am left weak and just feeling a bit woozy. It's the strangest thing I've ever had. It's mostly diarrhea out of the blue which can be a dicey deal when I'm out in public. I hope you stay well.
Oh, Jole, I'm so sorry for the doubhle whammy of having this crud and having to postpone the family getogether. I know how miserable you must feel. I hate stomach things. I am usually over them in 24 hrs. My family and I have had this since Thanksgiving. At the same time, I had a cold and sinusitis. I still have my old Kindle with the keyboard. The letters are worn off the buttons. It's still the best way to read outside. The new KF has an adjustable light and I haven't played around with it. It is too bright if the room is dark. I tried it outside today and I could see it to read but the old Kindle is best. Any book I have on the old Kindle that I put in the cloud is available to my new KF. I can go back and forth from one to the other as long as I keep track of where I am.
Pam, it's exciting that the walls are going up. Sorry about DH's vertigo; that's no fun at all. I'm with you; I'd rather be home in bed than out partying. Been there; done that. Happy New Year to you too.
A friend of Barb's came by so we sat out on the balcony. I didn't sit directly in the sun but got a bit of sunburn on my cheeks. It scared me when I washed my face. I thought my fungus had spread. I'm supposed to let the air get to the rash but I don't think the sun exposure did it any good. Gotta get more serious about sunscreen even though I don't sit directly in the sun. I didn't feel great but decided that sitting out there would take my mind off this crud. I was right. There's nothing good on TV. I played Angry Birds until I got tired of it. I can read the book that seems to be taking forever because it ain't that great.
Happy New Year to you and yours, my dear friends. May 2013 bring us all better things.
Diane - glad you rescued the pizza dough (crust) from disaster. Usually at home we have low sugar and fat vanilla ice cream with no sugar choc syrup, We usually don't use that much chocolate syrup either. Last night we had a yummy choc cake with a gooey choc middle and a cinnamon ice cream type thing on top. That may have also be part of the reason why I didn't sleep too plus the coffee. I was guessing the coffee but the dessert didn't seem to bother DH but he only had a sip or two of my coffee. I hope I sleep tonight.
Hope to see some more peeps on the threads. Was happy that I just saw Joan (Lilaclover) and am so happy. I need to go read it on the Porch.
Went to church this morning and am cooking some country style ribs in the crock pot . A distant cousin sent the recipe actually for boneless ribs so I thought I would try it. Probably not as much meat in mine.
Have a wonderful day and year coming up everyone. It is just us today, no visitors.
Hugz to everydobby,
[This Message was Edited on 01/01/2013]
just popping in to say hello....glad you all had a nice holiday...mine was OK, quiet but I like it that way. Brought in 2013 with bridge and friends and a dinner so that was my favorite thing to do....
Now to start back with acupuncture, seeing a new guy this Friday and his technique sounds so different from my Western trained MD....he was trained in China.... Should be interesting....I need a jump on my body..
Warming up here and hopefully my bones and joints will do a thaw...and the stiffness will ease up....weather man talking 70's for the weekend.....that will feel good...it's been 40's and 50's here.....brrrrrrrrr for us. Take care all. jam
PS: Perhaps Hillary wouldn't have gotten the blood clot had she been taking grape seed....grape seed keeps our blood thinned out,,,so no clotting and sticky blood hopefully....
I just want to stop in and say hello,
to all of my friends here.
I have been having a very rough time, that's why I have not been here...or anywhere....ugh.
I tried to look through your wonderful posts,
and hope to try some more, another day,
but I'm sorry so many of you have been feeling badly sick.
Hope you are each doing better .
Soon, if not already.
Jole, sorry the weather cancelled your family get-together.
Quite cold and snowy, here,
but some sun, some days.
No sun at night. LOL
I'm practising to be a weather forecaster, and I want to say something that will come true.
Nothing new, here...just trying to cope, through each day and night...untill things get a bit easier, for some unforeseen reason. I try to remind myself, things are not always THIS difficult for me.
Thanks for listening, and wanted to let you know I am hanging in here....and think of you.
and still blew it! My plan was to clean out the fridge before we get poisoned...lol. And even feeling better didn't seem to get that accomplished. Why? I simply forgot!! Wouldn't 'normal' be wonderful for all of us?
Leah, it's so good to see you with us. I miss you when you're not here, and wish your days were better for you. Do you have mostly the exhaustion and depression, or lots of pain too? Can't remember if it's mostly CFS or both, or something else altogether. My mood seems to be better at present, but never seems to last for me. Know the cold and lack of sun is hard on most of us. Wishing you well, dear friend!
Granni, I agree with Diane. That dessert sounds wonderful! One of our favorite cakes is a chocolate wesson oil cake with peanut butter frosting. Hubby's fav and all the kids enjoy it. Hubby's B-Day is Dec. 31st, and my DD made it for him. Unfortunately it now sits in her freezer since they live a state away. Hopefully we can get together soon and it'll be gone in no time. My fav dessert is still the chocolate layered dessert....crust, cream cheese, choc pudding and cool whip. Yeah, I like my sweets, and hubby is even worse!
I went on the Atkin's diet in '03 for 9 months, and could tell no difference in pain/exhaustion, but had no cravings for sweets after the 3rd day. Went off because I'd lost entirely too much weight (which wasn't the purpose of the diet) and gradually added foods back in. Eventually sugars, and desserts. Never did tell any difference. No, they may not be good for me, but since it didn't help, I might as well indulge in something
Pam, so good to hear about your house, and hope it goes quickly for you. Hope you partied for all of us! And don't have to pay too much in the way of a 'crash'. Keep the info coming!
Mikie, sorry about the sunburn. That must be painful over the rash area. Wish we were all sitting on your balcony with you! These temperatures are about to get the best of me...12 degrees yesterday morning. 50 would feel like heaven!
Diane/Granni, those ribs sound so good! Haven't had any since last summer on the grill. The messier the better, I say.....lol. My SIL loves Famous Dave's and we always have to eat there when we go (maybe once or twice a year). Their ribs are our favorite.
Jam, hope your accupuncture helps. As far as the GSE being a cure-all for everything in the world, I think some things are just destined to happen. Not that it doesn't help, but....
Hey, does anyone every hear from Victoria? She's been on my mind lately as well, and miss her here.
Well wishes to Rock and Barry....miss you too!
No news since I haven't been out of the house, and can't remember to do anything in it. Hugs to all...
Haven't been here for a day or so. After that stomach crud made a comeback, it left me sooooo exhausted and feeling queasy. UGH! I'm sorry so many of us are sick or tired or sick 'n tired. I just stayed inside and slept most of the day yesterday. Don't feel like getting up and out today but can't just lie here like a log.
It's early. Simon has been out front having his breakfast. He ate a little and sat at the top of the stairs. I looked out through some slats in the blinds and he looked at me. He made a move as though he wanted to come in my direction but I know he could never let me near him. I think it was just an acknowledgement that he appreciates the breakfasts I so dutifully put out for him. He went back to eating. He puts away so much food that I think he has to take a break or, perhaps, he heard something and was standing guard over his food. I can only imagine how hard it is for kitties who have to forage or always be on guard lest someone challenge them for food. He's so big that I can't imagine anyone taking him on. He looks very healthy and I hope he stays that way.
I didn't see Tweety or Sylvester yesterday nor any of my neighbors. They leave me alone when I have my front blinds drawn. I'm still deciding whether or not to take a shower and do my best to go out or just take a bath and change into other jammies. My kids are skiing but the stomach thing is still making a comeback at them too. An out-of-control hot dog skier hit Andy and knocked him over. He apologized but DD gave him what for; I don't blame her. My old boss' wife had her back broken by a guy who ran into her.
Andy no longer needs a booster seat so am going to sell the almost-new one I have. I'll bet I can get rid of it right here in the hood. It's been riding around in the back of the SUV or in one of the back seats. It's just taking up room now.
I haven't responded to each one of you but please know I think of you all every day. I'm still very tired. I wonder why I spent a year getting the injections only to be beset by everything else which keeps me down and out. Oh well, I guess it would have been worse if I still had the old symptoms.
no it's not a cure all that grape seed ex but it's made a huge difference in my life....allergy/sinus issues history, my eyes have NOT changed and I've not been for an eye exam in over 5 yrs, gums, another area that I'm having good health...
And if grape seed is keeping cancer from my body, that's huge and keeping my blood thin and not clumping up....another big one...
No it's not a PAIN med, but could also be helping....pain could be worse, I'll never know thou....I won't stop taking Grape Seed Ex....
If only it were a cure all, would put all the pain med drugs out of business....
As it is, for me, I've not had to support the otc allergy meds... take care. jam
