    I came across this poem from an Auden opera libretto, thought I'd share:

    But once in a while the odd thing happens,
    Once in a while the dream comes true,
    And the whole pattern of life is altered;
    Once in a while the moon turns blue.

    How good to hear from you! I've been missing your posts.

    I love Auden's poems, but have never come across this opera libretto. Do you have the name of it?

    Many blessings sent to you!

    Hi! It's so nice to hear from you- you know, I ran across this so long ago... I can't for the life of me recall where. It stood out to me, so I brought it to the board to share with others who could use a little reminder that miracles do happen and the patience to wait for the moon to turn blue. It then slipped my mind entirely!

    I just ran across it, purely by accident, as I was looking back at past posts. It is still so poignant. If I figure out where in the world it came from, I'll let you know!

    (If you figure it out first, do tell!)
