How can you prove that you cant even do office work to get ssi. my dr writes that I have a disability due to fibro but wont write a detailed letter hes been a great dr other than this, I have a lawyer and am waiting for a hearing.
They deny it saying I can do office work I cant even type or write without stopping every other work due to pain and stiffness. Same with sitting for very long or standing, walking.

i wonder about this myself. i'm a transcriptionist and work 40 hours a week, but right now i'm really ill and can't even sit up straight. i'm sleeping 12 hours a day.

i'm still awaiting a diagnosis, but they think i probably have CFS. have a lot of tests and specialist visits upcoming this month.

my head stays in a fog almost constantly...there's no way i could work right now. it's hard enough to respond to a post like this.

my doc put me out on STD. i have a private plan through my employer. but i'm worried about what will happen down the line if i don't improve significantly. i wonder if LTD will fight me or SSID if i have to go on that.

i think i could work a few hours a day...do you have to prove you can't work 8 hours a day 5 days or week, or can they force you to take part-time work? does anyone know?

have you seen specialists? have they done tests?

good luck to you Rosey! keep us informed of what's going on.

Office work requires that you sit for long periods of time. I can't sit in one position for more than 15-20 minutes. My hands go numb within 5 minutes of typing. If this is the case with you, how can you be expected to do office work?
