I've read on the board where some of you take them IM and some SQ. Would really like to know how you take yours. My doc gave me a vial and said to take 1000 mcg/ml but not how. Would appreciate your input.

I was told to give my 1000mcg/ml IM. Both the doctor and the pharmacy told me that and that's how I gave them.

I usually use my thigh. I use a fine needle 25 gage. I pinch the skin, then stab the needle in (much easier with a 25 gage), then slowly push the plunger in and then gradually pull it out. I use 1" needles and push it in almost all the way.

The first time is scary as all get out. After that, it's nothing.

Thanks! Pianowoman, do you give yours in the glut or arm? I want to be able to give these to myself, but not sure which is the best approach. Tigger, I haven't heard of the thigh for B12. Good thought! Would be easier.

Thanks to both of you -
