I STOPPED WORKING 3/17/03. AFTER PUSHING MYSELF FOR 17 YEARS, I JUST COULDN'T DO IT ANY LONGER. I FILED FOR SSI IN 8/04 AFTER REALIZING TIME OFF WORK DIDN'T IMPROVE MY WELL BEING. I'VE BEEN DENIED TWICE AND NOW HAVE ATTORNEYS WORKING ON MY CASE. THEY APPELAED AGAIN IN JUNE OF 2005. I CALLED LAST WEEK TO GET AN UPDATE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 24 TO 30 MONTHS BEFORE I SEE A JUDGE. HAS ANYONE OUT THERE EXPERIENCED THIS SAME TIME FRAME? MY NIECE FROM NEVADA FILED IN FEBRUARY AND WAS APPROVED IN APRIL. I HAVE A COUSIN IN CALIFORNIA THAT WAS APPROVED IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS. WHY DOES OHIO TAKE SOOOOO LONG. I WILL LOOSE EVERYTHING I WORKED FOR ALL MY LIFE BY WAITING THIS LONG. FUNNY, SSI NEVER HESITATED TO TAKE MONEY FROM EACH PAYCHECK ALL THOSE YEARS. SORRY IF I SOUND BITTER.
