    Hi Friends,

It has been a long time since I have posted. I was wondering how many with CFS have severe sweats or did at one time or another? Is this a symptom of CFS?

    Thanks!
    Hope

Sweating isn't a specific symptom of CFS but many with CFS have this problem.

I DO!! I seem to have many viruses and they're thinking that they are effecting my hypothalamus. This would absolutely cause excess sweating.

    Hormones are another big one.

    It could be many things.

You're not alone on this one.....and I HATE THE SWEATING!!

i have severe night sweats most every night regardless of where i am in my cycle. i think it is one of the many symptoms of both fibro and cfs.

I have had CFS for twenty years. I do not sweat. I thought that it was because of the CFS. But after reading your posts I am not so sure.

I was having episodes of feeling hot to the point I had to put a fan in the bedroom. Recently I started using bio identical hormones from Dr. Holtorf in Torrance. (I think he started or is part of the Fibro and Fatigue Centers).

I am 55 and the hot feelings have stopped after starting the hormones. Just a thought...

I, too , have been seeing Dr. Holthorf for about two years...what do you think of him? I've had CFS for a long time and travel from Northern Cal, so it's kind of a bother...let me know please..you can email at [email address removed as per rules]. thanks..

I get bad night sweats periodically. I have gotten them off and on ever since I have had CFS.

I never used to have sweats but the last few monthes I do. I break out in a cold sweat whenever I try to do some housework or sometimes when I am just sitting. The worst sweating is on my neck and upper back where I am having a lot of pain.

Sometimes they go away, but when I start to flare I know it because here they come. Hugs, Tam

Actually I was going to post this question a while back and never got around to it. I'm soooooo glad you brought this up, thank you!

I get sweaty with very little or no activity, and sweat a great deal at night. I wonder if it has something to do with hormones or with us not regulating tempurature right?

I am actually seeing the nurse practitioner and have never see Dr. Holtorf.

The NP says she consults with Dr. Holtorf on my treatment. I am going back this week.

I am also going to see Dr. John Chia in January. He is a infectious disease specialist in Torrance,CA - but it takes a long time to get in to see him.

Hi, I am glad someone brought this up. I sweat so bad, I can't fix my hair, wear make-up or want to see anyone. I use paper towels to wipe the sweat coming from my head down my neck and the rest of my body. It is discusting. I am sitting here now, JUst fine. If I move around to sweep, vacuum or just getting ready to go somewhere, my hair is soaked, I am soaked. I sleep with a ceiling fan, I haven't had the heat on in the house, it's gotten down to 46 here at night. I do get chilled sometimes. But all I have to do is get up and start getting dressed or light cleaning. I have to take all of my clothes off if I am going to clean my house. My clothes get soaked. Do you all think this is from fibro? It has to be. I never seat before, even when it was hot. I just wasn't a sweater. I hate it Meme
