I was just wondering if anyone has clear stuff in their bowel movements and if so have you ever had an accident when you were driving? This is quite embarrassing but I need to know whether or not something else is going on. I have severe pains in my right side of my stomach but I had a full hysterectomy so I am not sure what is causeing it if anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Carolonly, Check with a gastro. You might not be digesting fat properly. They can do a simple stool collection to find this out. Your gall bladder might not be functioning properly. Have you tried digestive enzymes. They helped me a lot. I have had lots of stomach trouble and acid reflux. Digestive enzymes helped me more than anything. Kim

calolonly.....with all the reading ive done on fibro...there seems to be a connection between it and irritable bowel and other such disorders. I myself was in the hospital in July with colitis. I seem to go from one extreme to the other. Im sure that you will get a lot of other responses on this. Hang in there.....this is one side effect that is not very pleasant......hugs.....queenbee69

do you have ibs problems? just had a really bad day this week and that happens with me too. i just wear an extra overnight size pad (they go way up the back, good) of course, i usually am at home that day anyway because when that flares up you can bet i am already in a fms flare.

so again, you are not alone. i am currently trying to work on my diet again for the ibs. i think it has a lot to do with my fms pain. the pains in your stomach can actually be your intestines, but i am no doctor or nurse by anymeans and if it continues, you might want to see your doctor.

    warm regards, fibolady

Mine is like mucus or snot..gross huh? I mentioned it to my pcp and mention the fact that alot of people with fm have IBS, she tells me dont worry about it cause stress can do the same thing. DUH...Where are the good doctors who care?

but my mother (I am positive she has FM, but she hasn't gone to Rheumy) noticed something in her bowels and when she took it in to be tested, it was one of her medications she was taking, for some reason it is just all coming out in her bowels. The doc tested her for some things, but couldn't find a reason for it. Also, she has accidents also. I would definitely get it tested to see what it is. I think maybe the accident thing is part of FM, but I don't know. Definitely get it checked out because it could be something serious. Let us know what you find out!

I had it pretty badly when I was younger. It's one of the IBS conditions. Mine always got worse with a lot of stress. Have you been tested for IBS yet? It probably doesn't even go by that name anymore. IBS is so common with us I'm claiming it as one of my disabilities. I can't wander more than a minute from a restroom. Usually get by okay if I'm sitting down but when I stand up, oh boy does gravity do it's thing. Newton's falling little brown apples!!

several years ago. I would almost go in my pants every day on the way to work. I just ignored it. It got worse and worse until I was hospitalized 1 night becuz the right pain (is it in your intestinal area?)became excruciating.
After 3 days in the hospital and several tests, I was diagnosed w/ Crohn's disease.

Please don't ignore this - see a specialist. My Crohns is in remission now, but i still have ibs.

I know every washroom between here and any place I have to go for errands - I also carry air freshener from the health food store just in case! (Isn't this a great topic?)

I used to have colonic irrigations. The girl who did it said that I had a lot of mucus coming out (I do notice it myself from time to time). According to her it is due to candida. I know I am full of candida so that is possible. I also have IBS but the two problems may be connected. I don't know.

    You are not alone! Pepper

I am new here and have been browsing through the postings. I saw this one and nearly fell out of my chair! LOL I'm only laughing because I have the exact same thing. I've already done the gastro dr. thing and he said it's IBS. I NEVER have a solid stool. NEVER! I wouldn't know what to do if I ever did!?! lol I had an "accident" this past week. Thank God I was at home. So let me add my own twist to this "unique" topic. I'll give you one guess what happens when you have chronic, mucousy diarrhea 6 or 7 times a day...HEMMOROIDS!!!!! Yep, it just keeps getting better!

Thanks for your honesty! Although it's not funny... we've got to keep a sense of humor & I appreciate you sharing yours.

    God Bless!

Yes, I have that all the time, just did my first coffee enema tonight, nothing earthshaking but I am going to do them a week or so daily.

I wouldn't get concerned about the mucous, seems common with us.

YES - Carolonly, I too have very bad IBS - Read a lot of these posts from others regarding this and also know that IBS seems to come with this deal! Oh yes also, I have had accidents in the car - rush hour traffic - pantyhose on - LOL and when mine hits, it gives me little or NO warning.
Needless to say, by the time I got home, I had ruined a new outfit, coat and had quite a mess to try to clean up with myself and also the car seat!!! Also yes, it is like water often times, clearish, mucus type, etc. I hate to tell this one as I am called "SPLASH" here at home - IF I make it to bathroom, which over the years I have gotten better on that artform - or anytime it hits - it whizzes out with a vengance. I have most all the time, somedays worse than others. In the beginning, due to that situation I could not go anywhere and make it through a dinner or anything without having to be taken home. They have mentioned "fat" to me also, saying my intestines can't digest fat and that gets it going I guess. I have found that if I need to go somewhere and especially eat, NOT to do much walking after eating - WHOA !!!!! Now if I am able to shop some or something where walking is required, I do not eat until afterwards.......seems the less movement after eating - gives me the best of luck....at least till morning - LOL
Terrible suject, but we all suffer from this and yes, it is very embarassing and humiliating....Like pepper said: There is not a bathroom around town I have not visited....
I do not usually get the pain your describing, but once the IBS starts, my stomach aches and gets that unsettled, nauseous feeling for the rest of the day. Check of course, with doc on gastro, possibly for acid reflux problems, to be sure. Bland diet is recommended - boring, but does seem to help the situation....This IBS is yet another real PAIN IN THE BUTT - Vamp

I'm sure i have had ibs since childhood but never got a clinical diag. Wheat and dairy do me in but even watching my diet carefully will still get days on in where I look 8 months pregnant and the entire stomach area is painful but especially right side. All the muscles get sore because am unable to hold them in. It always feels like I should be binding it all very tight. And so she did. Went out and bought myself a panty girdle that goes up several inches above my waist. From hip bones to top their are stays to keep all the innerds nice and tightly tucked in place. 3 days of wearing this usually helps break the cycle and puts me back in the non flare up phase.

I have had this same problem for over 2 years. I have had accident's in stores trying to make it to the bathroom. I have mentoned this to doctors who just seem to let it go, just like they tell me I'm not in pain and I don't know what I'm talking about. But I'm here for you. I hope you are having a great day.

i just read what everyone wrote - the reason i asked about the right sided pain is because that is where the large and small intestine meet, my crohns was so bad by the time i was hospitalized, the area surrounding the small and large intestine had become inflamed, which can then cause scar tissue and a hardening of the intestines which can then cause the area to become closed off! MAJOR PAIN! It's in the lower right hand side of the abdomin, not the stomache, which is up higher.
    How are you doing?
