I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself lately........who will look after me if I get sick?
Yesterday I was chatting to one of the women who works in the downstairs cafe where I work.
We have become quite good mates over recent months.
We were chatting about 'us' being the primary caregivers, how tough it can be...yadayadayada....(she works two jobs to support her kids - no husband and she does it tough).
She has not been well lately and I got on my "self nurturing soapbox".
Faye (her name) then proceeded to tell me that her 14 yr old daughter was born with spina bifida and some of the hardships they face.
Well all my bemoaning went out the window.
I feel priveleged to know this incredibly strong
woman. I hope we can be there for each other in the future.

At the family in the condo beneath mine. All three are older, a brother sister, and her husband. All are sick with worse things than most of us have to endure. They are truly an inspiration to me.

    Love, Mikie
