I just found out that the FNP who diagnosed me will be moving in a couple of months to start a new job and be with her significant other in Portland. We have worked together so well, and she's so sweet!! At least before she leaves she's going to give me referrals for a pain specialist and a rheumy. She says the guy I'll be seeing after she leaves does believe there is such a thing as FMS, so we'll see.

I'm kinda bummed because she was the first one to believe I was in pain, and gave me hope that I wasn't crazy!

Well, I guess I shouldn't be selfish, but still!! (whine, whine!)

So sorry that she's leaving. It is awful when one of your health care providers whom you really like leaves town.

I felt that way about a pain mgt. doctor that my doc sent me to and I had only gone to him for 4 months. Then he left to go back to his hometown to practice because he had to return home to help with his elderly father.

You can't help but be "selfish" and want them to stay, can you?!!

Hope her replacement is a good as what she says!!

I know how you feel because I just found out we have to change our health insurance next year in order for me to continue to see my family doc. This is the second time in 2 years we have had to do this.

We now have a PPO, but will end up having to go back to an HMO, which will be paper referrals that we didn't need the past two years. But I want to stay with my family doc because I'm getting my FM meds and pain meds recently.

I could do a lot worse with a different doctor, since I've seen so many specialists for FMS.

    Good luck,
    Faye
