has vicodin ever made someone feel worse?

    i took vicodin earlier today,
just to see if it would subside my migraine a little bit.
i fell asleep and when i woke up a little while ago,
i felt like i had the full on flu.
it hasn't gotten any better, and my migraines worse.

could i be really sensitive to meds,
or does this sound like just an FM coincidence?

i don't usually have much muscle pain anymore since cymbalta.

    Its somethning I've wondered too.

Vicoden and Lortabs do the same thing to me.
They work well for about 2-3 hrs but then I acually feel worse. Like I have more pain/body aches.
I'm not sure why? It does'nt make sense.
Then again nothing with having Fibro makes sense.

I don't have any cold type symptoms. Do you?
    no stuffiness,or sore throat.
Just massive body aches,...like I'm gonna come down with something.
    Its weird.
I wish I knew someone to ask. maybe this is a sensitivity to the hydrocodone.?
The printout from the pharmacy does'nt say anything about this being a side effect for this med.
(but that does'nt mean much,..I guess)

Wish I was more help :(

Maybe you really are coming down with something. Vicodin can cause nausea, but I never heard of flu like symptoms. Of course everyone reacts different to different meds. How much cymbalta are you on? I take 60 in am and 30 at night and I'm still miserable. At first it seemed to work, but no longer. {{}} cb (RN)

    yeah it's really wierd.
i didn't have a sore throat, fever or anything.
just extreme muscle pain and my migraine was HORRIBLE.
my mom said it couldn't of been the vicodin,
but its the only thing i took, and i felt horrible for a couple hours.

i was wondering if i actually WAS coming down with something,
but i'm feeling ALOT better now,
the flulike aches lasted for a couple hours after the vicodin kicked in,
and now they're pretty much gone.
my migraines a little better now, too.
i take 20 mg. of cymbalta.
my rheum. doesn't want me on a higher dose, he thinks the 20 mg will be enough to alleviate most of my FM aches, insomnia, etc.
