I have just found out about my FMA about 3weeks ago.
Last night my knees swelled so badly and the pain is crazy. How do you learn to live with this?
I'm trying but I'm still confused on what I suppose to do to make the pain better.
Sorry about my spelling. Thanks Angel

Are you on any meds? I would try a hot bath with 2 lg bottles of hydrogen peroxide and 2 cups epson salts.people use different amounts and add differntthings but this is the basic. It will cut down your pain and really relax you so be ready to go to bed.

Heating pads and cold pacs help.

Welcome to the board!(if this really is your name try to change it.You don't want any stalkers!

    Hi,

I am new to this board too, and only 40 yrs. young. I was diagnosed with CFS/Fibro about a year ago. Although I am sure I had it much longer, it has really worsened in the last 6 months. I go to a nurse practitioner that specializes in CFS/Fibro, maybe you can find one in your area also. It seems that we all need different treatments depending on the many varied symptoms. The nurse just put me into physical therapy which includes massage, water exercises, (low impact) and electrical pads put on the affected muscles with heat. I have only had the heat with little waves of electricity on my muscles so far, and that felt great! Looking forward to really getting into the therapy to see if it works. I hope you find a specialist too and I hope you feel better soon!!
    God bless, Kim

There are so many abbreviations and I don't want to assume that I know what FMA is. Could you please tell me what your definition of FMA is.

    Thank you,

It doesn't go away.It can get a lot better though when you find what works for you.My meds are finally right for me.I can't walk much but I have a lot less pain. Some people find that they have food allergies, and get better thru a change of diet and supplements. So things will not always be as they are now.You will find what's right for you

There are things being done in the field of medicine that look promising too.Linda
