Thank you for your words of encouragement and prayers.

I don't know what I would do without you all. due to all the recent stressed in my life, I have pick up smoking again.

I went from not smoking to a pack a day. I think it is an obessive thing. its probably something spiritual but am having a hard time to break it.
    its like I never quit.
How can I ask God to heal me when I'm doing such an unhealthy thing.

I can't even ask for Gods forgiveness when I'm still smoking. its like I'm trying to keep a secret from him (like he doesn't know,LOL)....

There's nothing I wouldn't do to get well and yet I'm smoking and don't seem to be able to stop.

I just pray that I will be covered by Gods grace.
Love you all very much, you have been my strengh, can't go to the Lord with this one just yet. little ashamed.

Dear one, you not only can go to the Lord, you can run to Him, He invites you to. And you can tell Him, just as you have told us. After all, He knows anyway.

Lisa, we all have things in our lives that we hate, yet hang on to. The Lord looks at the heart, not the outward appeance. He sees your heart, how much you do not want to smoke and are ashamed, but still have issues in your life that pulls you back to that habit. No one has walked in your shoes or can condemn you, for we all have sin, we all fall short of the Glory of God.

Lisa, personally, I would rather be around a smoker than one that thinks they are so righteous they have no faults, and looks down on others who are struggling.

We are a 'work in progress', and I pray that those things that 'beset us', will be broken. Whether it be pride, envy, jealousy, boasting, whatever.

May the Good Lord help you in your struggles and help all of us, imperfect sinners, saved by Gods grace.

So, you can go to Him. Just as you are. He loves you! His Son gave His life for us. To those that believe and accept Jesus as Saviour, that makes us His child. And He is a loving, merciful father.

He will help you. He is the only One who can. God Bless you and keep you.

    Dear Lord, Merciful Father;
Help of the helpless, Lord, we need Your strength. Lord, freely we admit that we are prone to sin and those things that do harm us. It is hard for us Lord, though our spirits are willing, our flesh is battling us. Lord, I ask that You will impart Your wisdom and do the work in us that You alone can do. Lord, sometimes, all we can do, is just say, Help me Lord. Dear God, I give you Praise and Thanksgiving, for Your mighty love and grace, grace that is greater than all our sin. Cleanse us Lord, by thy forgiveness, in Jesus, and may we , with Your help, walk before You, in the way You desire. In Jesus name I ask, Amen .
God Bless and love to you Lisa. Blessings[This Message was Edited on 02/18/2004]

When I was a young lad , I was a devout Catholic. I was a friend to several priests. Some of them were also smokers. If a man of God has this habit & still serves Him , I see no reason you should shy away from Him. He loves us with AND without our weaknesses!!!!!

There is no reason to be ashamed..... He understands our weaknesses & our strengths.... all He asks for is our love , worship , & belief in Him. If we do this , He always forgives us.

When the time is right , you will be able to quit & He shall help you !!!!!! Indeed you are covered by His grace.

    ( I also am a smoker).

    Blessings , billcamo.

Smoking is such a addiction. I understand. Been smoking way too long myself. Smoke too much too. Its from boredom is my reasoning. I feel ashamed of it, that I am so addicted to smoking. I am asking God for Forgiveness myself too. Will be praying for you.

Read that you quit for good. I hope you did, really I do. I hope to quit again soon also. Its a hard habit to break.

I will try again to stop, I can't afford them. I should be buying food for my family.

I'm going to just leave it in Gods hands for now

    thank you
