I'm mid-flare right now, worst one in awhile. Thought I'd share something I discovered that helps somewhat. We use coolers a lot in the summer on our boat, and recently bought several of the bendy re-freezable "ice blankets" for coolers that they sell in the camping/cooler aisles at like Target or Wal-Mart.

I've been in so much pain from my head to my lower back, like burning, snapping-rubberbands, throbbing pain. My husband suggested laying out two sheets of the frozen ice blankets on the bed, with a t-shirt over them and I laid on them until my entire neck/shoulders/back were numb. I had tears in my eyes from sheer relief. Since then I've used them every night.

They're squishy, not hard, so they don't hurt to lay on, they're flexible, and they're made up of lots of little "pods" so they mold to your body.

    Hope that helps someone else!
