it's snowing and it is sticking... but, don't see the ice, yet... We got about 3-4" a few weeks ago with no problem (power stayed on), I'm just praying there is no ice.

(I'm in Athens, where are you, Niece?)

I saw pictures on the news this morning of the fierce storm in the
    South. Glad I'm not there.

I was in Atlanta just once. For 5 weeks in l968 going to school.
It was January. The weather was warm and the city was beautiful.

Was walking down the sidewalk in a residential area and met a men wearing
a suit and a stetson. He looked familiar. Later that day I saw an ad in
the paper. He was appearing in a play. It was Hans Conried. (Uncle
Tanoose on Make Room for Daddy.)

Diane, what do you mean you're in Pittsburgh, PA? I always thought you were in
    Prince Albert, Canada.

Hey, remember the song "There's a pawnshop on the corner in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania"? Was a hit when I was young and slim and cute. You can
probably find it on Youtube. Seems like everything in the known universe
    is on Youtube.

Just kidding, Diane. I knew it was pittsburgh cause you're always talking
about the Steelers. Or was that someone else? Anyhoo I read on Wikipedia
that Pittsburgh no long has any steel mills, but it's steel there.

how many inches of snow did everyone end up with so far?

(I say so far cuz they're predicting up to another 3" of snow &/or sleet. It's staying overcast, so I believe them.)

So far it's been 99.9% snow TG, looks like about 6" on the railing tho I haven't ventured outside with a ruler, LOL. They've reported about 5+" officially for the town.

Rock, the average temp for Atlanta in Jan is about 50+ degrees because it can be anything from what you experienced to what we're experiencing now. That's the fun of living in this area, you just never know what you're gonna get in that big box of candy called weather! (I do remember Hans Conried, but not that song...)

Hope you've still got power, niece!

PS: Saw some parts of PA got about 19" of snow, did you Diane?

I'm hoping that it's over but they keep saying we could have freezing drizzle over night we have 6 or 7 inches on the ground here of ice/snow/mix and thankful that we still have power......We will have this ice/snow all week because the temps....are not going to be above freezing until maybe saturday....
we are not use to this kind of weather
so everybody stay safe and warm
