Anyone here dealing with edema issues? I went through testing for 5 years ago and the only diagnosis was idiopathic edema. I gained 10 pouds in one day. I used to take ephedrine for it prescribed by a nephrologist. I think that my edema is getting worse and I am unable to remove my rings and my arms feel achy? Any suggestions?

Do you drink enough water? Have been reading a book about our bodies' need for water. The author says we need 8 to 10 eight ounce glasses of water a day. And stay away from sodas, diet and regular. They don't count. Neither does coffee or tea.

I'm going to do a separate post about this book. The author goes into great detail about how dehydration can lead to many health problems, including allergies, asthma, diabetes(!), high blood pressure, weight gain, there was more. The book is called "Your Body's Many Cries for Water" by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.

He says our thirst and hunger signals can get confused, we may eat when we actually need water.
