or any of the surrounding areas do any of you know any good support groups for FM? I was given a list from OHSU but it was very outdated and the numbers had either been changed or disconnected. I feel that a support group would really help me right now to help deal with the not working and the on going battle with the insurance company and SSD. I would appreciate any information any of you might have.

    Thanks,
    Dara

Stay on OHSU, I am from Longview, WA, currently living in Tri Cities, I had heard the other day that OHSU has just in the past week announced a Lupus cure. If they are working on a cure for Lupus then they are also (I would guess) working on Fibro & Chronic Fatigue. Please just be persistent with them, they are like everyone else these days in the Health Care field, overworked, bogged down in insurance issues, regulations, understaffed, etc. Let us know how you do.

    Good luck,
    Jaci

I am from Dundee, OR., about 23 miles from Portland. I attend a support group for CFIDS but there are some there with FIBRO also. They meet at Good Sam Hospital the first Sunday of every month from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. I find it very helpful for me. Alot of good information and support. They try to have guest speakers come every so often, which is very interesting. We also have a book exchange of sorts, that people can check out books and return them the next month. Would love to have you come and check it out. Hope to see you there!.........Billie

This is my first posting here. I've been looking for a support group in the Portland/Vancouver area also.I spend
half of my time in one and the rest in the other! Moving to Portland soon though. I'm also desperately searching for a
    good doctor,clinic,specialist,alternative practitioner....
I'm willing to try anything anymore! I am also unable to work, but I am hesitant to put myself through the hell of
trying to get on disability.Four years ago I started the process (im 27) but was overwhelmed with the struggle and had no support so I stopped.I am considering trying again.
Any news of support groups in the area thrills me.Will try the Good Sam one soon!!!
    Thanks,Thanks,Thanks.

for the information. I will plan on attending one of the meetings very soon. Also, if I find any other support groups I'll post them.

    Thanks,
