    I just got my Igenex Western Blot results, and I'm a bit concerned. They read:

    Lyme IgM Western Blot
    Igenex Igm result: Positive
    CDC/NYS result: Negative

    Lyme IgG Western Blot
    Igenex IgG result: Negative
    CDC/NYS result: Negative

    Naturally, I'm concerned about the "postive" result above. Does it matter which or how many bands show positive?

    My doctor is out of the office for the rest of the week, so I'm not sure what to do at this point.

    Should I go ahead and make an appointment with a lyme specialist?

    I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

    I was IGM positive and IGG negative too. I had activity on the IGG but not enough to say positive. You have lyme no matter what your doctor might say!!

    Take care

    Femmdange and Mollystiwn, thanks for your responses!

    I didn't want to bore you all with the details on my Igenex lab report, but it sounds like band detail is important?

    Here is what is listed under Igenex IGM Result "Positive" and CDC/NYS Result-"Negative":

    18 kDa -
    22 kDa -
    **23-25 kDa IND
    28 kDa -
    30 kDa -
    **31 kDa +++
    **34 kDa -
    **39 kDa IND
    **41 kDa ++
    45 kDa +
    58 kDa ++
    66 kDa +
    73 kDa -
    **83-93 kDa -

    Can anyone help me interpret these results? I am utterly clueless with this!

    Thanks!

    Erica

    Blinkie and Twinofdar: Thanks for your responses! I just posted more results from my labs above.

    Blinkie, I'd love a referral to your lyme doc. Would you mind sharing the info?

    I still have my apartment in San Francisco, but am living with my parents in the LA area. So I'd be open to a lyme doc in either area. I have to go back to the bay area monthly anyway to see my internist and/or Dr. Montoya.

    Thanks again for all the support and advice!

    Only one band was postive: "**41 kDa +". There were 2 INDs and the rest were negative.

    That's amazing that you are an Erica and with the same spelling. I've only known maybe 2 in my lifetime. ( :

    I see a Dr. H in Redwood City but he also is in Malibu one week-end a month. It sounds like either would work for you. He also does phone appts after the initial visit. I've seen him once and liked him a great deal. I really liked his in depth history and understanding. Apparently he's considered an "expert" LLMD. I've heard great things about him. Sometimes it takes leaving a few messages to get a call back, so don't be discouraged. Anthony usually calls and he's very nice and helpful.

    I'd like to help you! It looks to me like you are positive for lyme. I'm hoping to find out somthing that sure as well. I'm still learning myself. I retest next week after 3 weeks on Doxy. I've had a lot of exacerbated symptoms on it so we'll see. I hope I hear from you and can help. Until then.....

    All the best,
    Erica

    Thanks for the info! I emailed you last night....please let me know if you didn't get it and we can try again.

    I've very intrigued to hear about this Dr. H everyone refers to!

    I registered on lymenet.org last night, but found only 3 doctors online and didn't receive any emails about doctors.

    Since I'm new to that site, I'm sure I've overlooked something obvious. Anyone have any tips?

    Thanks!

    Hi Erica, I just got back my igenex western blot results last week and I went to the web site to interpret bands. Google Western blots made mad easy. It is written by a Dr. who works with Dr. Jones a pediatric LLMD. It did help me get an idea of what each band means. Good luck, Jess

    Thanks for referring me to the website you used, but I couldn't find it. Could you attach the link?

    Would you mind sharing your test results? Or at least sharing positive/negative?

    Thanks for your help,

    Erica
