which of these shows current infection and which shows past ?
To the best of my knowledge, IgM shows current infection, and IgG shows past.
However, many of us with CFS have unusually high IgG titres, which indicate we are producing a large amount of antibodies to a past infection.
Many researchers and doctors familiar with CFS postulate that such high IgG titres actually indicate a reactivation of a previous infection.
If you have an unusually high IgG, it might be worthwhile to have PCR or additional testing done.
is this the way the FFC works? Is that how they figure out if yuou've got an acute infection?
cos i don't think most docs do this kind of detailed bloodwork.
