So glad you feel well enough to acutally go out and enjoy an evening with your husband at a concert, no less. How fun. Music is so uplifting.

    Thanks Sue and Ken:

Yes I'm going to see a Canadian band who were really popular in the 70's "April Wine". They are AWESOME! They had 20 albums I think.

    I'll be singing along!!

Well I made it home. We arrived at the Casino at 7 p.m. and went into the hall and reserved out chair, then went back into the casino and played a little on the slot machines and I had a Corona with LIME!! Tasted so good. so much for the anti-yeast diet!! I DIDN'T CARE.

At 9 p.m. we back into the hall and April Wine started the concert. Played so many of their old songs and some off the new CD. Brought back many years. Apparently they have been together since 1969!!

And yes Ken those were two of the songs they sang.!! AWESOME. Next Weekend Dr. Hook is coming and who knows maybe we will go to that one too!!!

I'm ready to live a little again!!

Thanks for all your great replies. means so much to me.

I love happy new, and yours is just the happiest.

Sounds like such a fun evening. I hope you repeat it next weekend if you can.

Glad you enjoyed reading about my big night out!!! It's always nice to have something to look forward to.

This complex is a hotel/casino/concert hall so lots to see. They even have 1 cent slot machines, so you can play a long time without spending too much money.

I won an extra $10. on the 25 cent slots.

I fine if I make plans and try to keep busy I don't concentrate on the stiffness as much.

You guys are too funny. Elaine: Yes the ice cold Corona and lime was soooo good. I haven't drank in so long and I didn't even feel bad the next day, and I was up late.

Aerosmith was here last year. I really wanted to see Elton John when he came but tickets were gone in minutes and I couldn't get through. I will have to go see him at Caesars in LV.

Meatloaf and Rod Stewart were both here recently.

I like any style of music except for the hard core rap.

Next weekend it could be Dr. Hook!!!

    Thanks again

Cool picture of April Wine. Seems like they were on a brief-running TV show last year that showcased bands who had hits back in the 80s. They played "Sign of the Gypsy Queen." I could see that they had aged, but they still rocked.

I've always liked Canadian artists and bands: Rush, Triumph, April Wine, Neil Young, even Joni Mitchell.

Doesn't it feel good to get out and do something that "normals" actually do?

Keep us posted on Dr. Hook!

Glad you liked my picture. The picture was dark and I had to lighten it. I saw most people were using their cell phone taking pictures. I used my digital.

I'm impressed with your knowledge of Canadians groups! Have you heard of Trooper and Chilliwack. They have also played at the local casino. I think all these bands do the circuit.

Ken I heard it was your birthday this week. Happy Birthday. I'm not celebrating any more!!! Going to remain 29 and holding.

Elaine: I saw you were online with the Rich Chat today! Did you like the setup? It's hard when there is 31 people on the same chat line but Rich did a good job answering questions. I liked all his answers especially the one on "getting better quality sleep". He recommended the ZMA so I ordered some tonight from ProHealth store.

Well must get some SLEEP!! Talking about sleep. My son gets up early for school.

Oh ya: Ken if you look real close at my picture and see the drummer of April Wine. He did a drum solo for about 10 solid minutes that was amazing! This guy is 68 years old!! He had the crowd in awe.

Have you seen Blue Rodeo or Cowboy Junkies in concert? I lived in Toronto in 1995 and fell in love with them. I try to see them whenever they come around the midwest - KC, Chicago, St Louis, Lawrence.

I'd rather be in Toronto so I can see them locally. I loved it there!

April Wine was one of my favorite bands way back when. "Just Between You and Me" can bring tears to my eyes because it has such good memories!

Blue Rodeo is coming here next week. I think it's the lead singer on his own. I love his new song. His voice is so pure.
    Haven't seen Cowboy junkies.

If you check online April Wine has so many hits over the years. They only play a few at the Concert and add in new songs off their new CD. Yes the songs bring back so many memories. Can you hear the "cowbells" in some of their songs? Such a unique sound.

Last summer I saw them at an Outdoor night concert. brought my Mother with me!! We had a blast. There was 10,000 people at that concert.

And you are right, I love him and his voice. I think I will check and see if April Wine is coming to KC this summer. The casino's here do a lot of concerts in small venues that are fabulous!

Every single day. If I could find a job to sponsor me, I'd move back in a heart beat. It was the first time I was really on my own. I was in the process of getting divorced, my oldest daughter was married, my youngest was graduating high school and was set up to go to college. She had basically been living on her own so I thought she was OK for me to leave. It was liberating, I found out what I could do for myself, and there just wasn't the baggage of living where I grew up and raised my kids.

Yes, I loved Toronto and Niagra Falls. And I want to see the other provinces in Canada.

Well my father was in the forces so I've been to every province except NFLD.

Hubbie, myself and kids moved to Alberta 3 years ago. Love the Rockies, my kids love the sking. Every province offers something different.

We still have a cottage on the Ottawa River and I go back there every summer.
