The closest group that I am aware of in my area is an hour drive.
I am considering seeing if I can start one.

If anyone here has headed up a group or attended a group how do the meetings play out?
What would you suggest for getting started?

If anyone here was looking for a group how would you best feel supported and informed?

    Thanks for any input.

fairly recently, but I can't find the post.

One of my friends started a 12-step program in her home one night a week. She notified the 12 step headquarters so the meeting was listed.

She fixed coffee. People who wanted to could bring cookies, etc. 12 step meetings always have a collection, so she was reimbursed for coffee.

You have to have rules in a meeting (for example, the speaker has 5 minutes and is not to be interrupted), but these were already in place.

She had 8-10 people every week for over a year until she moved.

    Good luck.

Hmm...I could not handle that kind of situation.

You have given me food for thought though.
I work in a hospital and am thinking of talking this over with a gal who runs a stop smoking group and a weight loss group.

I work for our P.T. dept. and I know the therapists have talked about education programs on FMS and MPS for the public.

Not sure if I will run with this or not but would like to get some interest going in the community.

Thanks again and I will definitely post to you if I need some help.

    Hugs back,Pammy
