1. Karen Tripp: Candida Recovery

DISCLAIMER - I don't have fm, never did have, really don't know anything about it except what's on this page, so please don't write to me asking me about it. I KNOW NOTHING about the condition itself. MY POINT in having this page is to let you know that you MAY NOT have fm, you MAY have a bad case of candida.

I hope you read My Story before you came here, because I'm writing this from my personal experience.

I was fortunate enough to find a doctor who knows all about candida, and who has a 95% success rate. I am living proof of that.

Three acquaintances of mine who believed they had fibromyalgia went to see Dr. Piller, upon my recommendation. When they told him they had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, Dr. Piller tested them and discovered that they had candida in the muscles. They did not, in fact, have fibromyalgia.

So he put them on the same recovery program he put me on. It took some six weeks, some three months, but after diligently sticking with the program, none of them now show any symptoms of either candida or FM.

I do believe there is such a condition as fibromyalgia, I just think that too many people are seeking help in the wrong places because they may not actually have it. Muscle testing (kineseology) would confirm a diagnosis of candida - and this part is curable. I know, I know, kineseology is not scientific ....

Before setting down to write this, I searched the internet to try to find something that would confirm any of this information but couldn't find a single thing. The only thing that I know is that there seems to be a link between the two conditions... those who have FM also have candida, and their condition can be alleviated by getting rid of the candida. But from all that I've read, there is no cure for fibromyalgia... Before you resign yourself to an illness with no cure, find out if what you really have is candida in the muscles.

We all give thanks to Dr. Piller for helping us with the otherwise "incurable" illnesses that we had. All I can say is that if you have been diagnosed with FM, you may actually have a severe form of candida. Dr. Piller can help you.

I was treated by an MD/Nutritionist last year for Candidiasis. He diagnosed this on the basis my answers on a questionnaire. I was desperately seeking something that would help my symptoms and someone recommended him. For 4 months I was on a very strict diet and took recommended supplements, probiotics and Tanalbit to kill the yeast.

I felt better for a short while. I then did some traveling and had some stressful life events that put me in a flare. I've never recovered so I know that my illness is more than Candidiasis.

I think it's possible to feel very sick from Candidiasis, but I don't think that getting rid of it will cure all your FMS symptoms. I think it's possible to have both and also possible to be misdiagnosed. The only way to find out would be to go on a Candidiasis treatment plan. There's lots of info on the web and books available, as well.

5. I don't think it will cure fibro either but just found this article interestin.

and CFS. My symptoms are anywhere from 50 to 70% better when my candida is under control. Candida is a huge problem for me, but not my only problem.

fibrobutterfly with your findings and mine I'm begining to see they go hand in hand.

I totally cleaned out my system lost 50 lbs quit eating bad carbs and sugars I felt fantastic for about 1 yr. In fact I felt so good I thought I could eat anything I wanted and wound up right back where I started from except this time I gained back 25 lbs and have terrible flare ups. This flare I am in now has lasted for 4 weeks. And you can bet I am back on the clean living life style I was on 1 yr ago. No more bad carbs or sugars..

GREAT POSTING. Actually its probably one of the most impt postings i've read. I was about to post something similar.

When i began to get ill.........i didnt know what the heeeck was wrong with me. I was scared, going down hill fast and with no known reason why. I quickly started seeing doctors with no support or diagnosis except "depression" (NO WAY WOULD I ACCEPT THAT).
During the moments that i was functional i would research online....and bought a few books....
one book led me to research one thing which led me to another and another until finally i learned that candida was something to look into. of the mannnnny tests i did on my own was a candida test. I did test elevated for this. I was a 2+, not as high as i expected...since i had soooo many symptoms with such severity, both physical and mental. (From memory loss to fatigue to hypoglycemia to excessive cortisol at night, floaters and fluctuating vision, hives, food sensitivities, jittery, weak, anxious, insomnia, etc etc)

Most docs dont believe in it and will make u feel dumb for even bringing the idea up......but you have to trust yourself. Finally my Gyno doc agreed to treat me ...... I actually pick up my Rx (Nystatin powder for oral use) tomorrow.
Ive also bought a book that ironically focuses on the LINK between CANDIDA AND CFS/FIBRO. I truly believe they are either one in the same or exist together. I figure I should let everyone know so that at least you are aware of TRYING nystatin (which is suppose to help with candida) to see if it improves/treats your fibro. It took me nearly a year to figure out whats wrong with me, get help, get a doc to get me the nystatin.
Im honestly a lil scared to take the nystatin...because i'm putting a lot of HOPE INTO it. I pray that it works.
I'll keep everyone posted.
God bless everyone going through this
11. Yes let us know how you do. I have been bothered by yeast all my life. Most drs. poo poo that yeast can be responsible for alot of problems but I am really wondering myself. Who says drs. are always right.

Please read "The Program" to understand how this diet will help you.

Don't drink milk by the glassful... this just means you can have cream in your coffee, or you can bake with it, or enjoy a sugarfree custard once in a while. But PLEASE do not write to me about dairy! I HATE the stuff and I DO NOT EAT IT. I am lactose intolerant and I am NOT promoting it!!!!!

Beverages: milk, water, herb teas, tomato juice, decaf coffee, V8, diet pop with no fruit juice or caffeine

Nuts, seeds, oils: almonds, pecans, walnuts, butter, brazil nuts, pumpkin seeds, oils (almond, avocado, corn, linseed, olive, sesame, safflower, sunflower, canola, soy), cashews, sesame seeds., filberts, sunflower seeds.

If cooked and eaten hot: leftovers, mushrooms, vinegar-containing foods, cheese well melted, bread well toasted

** About Stevia - there is a product called Sweetvia... it is the pure extract so there are no undesirable additives such as maltodextrin that dilute the taste, quality, and health characteristics of the product. You can read about it and order it at I have not tried this product. I can buy pure concentrated powder and that's what my recipes are based on.

FMS, like most other immune/auto-immune illnesses, are extremely difficult to diagnose. It's usually a diagnosis of elimination of other conditions. There are the "official" tender points but even those are not fool proof. I think we constantly have to be diligent in eliminating all kinds of things, even when we do have FMS. FMS, again, like other conditions, may coexist with all kinds of infections and illnesses.
I have FMS and CFIDS. Now, I am getting symptoms of Sjogren's Syndrome. It's also extremely difficult to pinpoint. On average, it takes 6.5 years to diagnose. I am seeing various specialists to try to treat the symptoms because there is no cure. I had though I was managing my FMS/CFIDS well and now, along comes the flare of who-knows-what.
FMS can mimic many other conditions and, as I said, coexist with other conditions. It seems the more we learn, the more we realize we don't know. I agree that one simply cannot just accept the diagnosis of these illnesses. It could be something else.
