I am confused...is Fibro considered and Autoimmune disease?

    Thanks

Hey BB,i am not sure if fibro is considered an autoimmune disease by the powers to be--but i have seen where certain groups are doing studies on this very subject. I also think some Docs consider the two related!!!! Hope this has helpecheck-out the newsletters and such on this site-INTERESTING!! Laura

    Dear BB,
Fibro is listed as a type of arthritis, and, as such is, I think, an autoimune diseasse. Whether it or the things that go along with it cause neuropathy, I don't know. I figure my neuropathy comes from diabetes.

i don't think anyone knows the answer to this question. Many different "experts" have different theories. The current trend of research would probably say it's not an autoimmune disorder. They would say it is a pain processing disorder with a neurological pathology. or something like that.
