Is there a way to code so that Medicare will pay for allergy blood tests?

I had these done 15 years ago, and they showed allergies to many things - even rice! I'd like to repeat them now. Is there any way to convince Medicare to pay for them? I do have plenty of gastrointestinal issues. I discussed doing the test with an allergist, who said Medicare wouldn't pay for it. Then today I read here that some ins. cos. will pay for the test with a GI diagnosis.

medicare will not pay for it. I never tried to find a way around it. I was told I would have to do an elimanation diet. I think they basically need to take all the allergy foods out add them in one by one and see if you get any symptoms. you can find lots of info on the diet online

    Good Luck -Kim
