Don't forget to change your clocks today, November 6.

Fall back an hour everyone and pretend to party like you have the energy!

Change out the batteries in your smoke and radon detectors.

Ours here in our condos are hard wired but fire safety experts are now telling us they may not work in an electrical fire. They recommend hard wired with battery backup or just replacing the hard-wired detectors with battery-operated ones. Well, good luck with that. I have really high vaulted ceilings. I bought a battery-operated detector at Lowe's for $13 and put it on top of an armoire outside my bedroom. Think I'll get another one for the guest rooms.

When we go back to Daylight Savings Time, the experts recommend changing the batteries out again. In a majority of fatal fires, the detectors weren't working because the batteries were dead or removed and never replaced.

    Love, Mikie
