I don't know if you remember, but she was off three years ago for about seven months from battling "Ebstein-Barr" related fatigue.

She came back to have a fabulous year last year, but this year, her results have been terrible, and she's walking away...

I'm sorry for her, especially as she was such a scrapper/fighter, but could this shine a public light on CFS/ME?

Obviously, any one who has ever seen her play would ever accuse HER of laziness.

She is announcing her retirement today in Belgium.

heard of this woman before Callum's post. She is 25, from Belgium, and has been a champ for several years. (Also very wealthy from all those wins.)

The Associate Press had a story about her today. The term Chronic Fatigue Syndrome never appears. Neither does myalgic encephalopathy.

The AP said she had an "energy sapping blood virus".

    An "energy-sapping blood virus" indeed!

I feel sorry for her but she could have been a great representative.

    Thanks for the info, Callum.
