I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and severe osteoporosis.
My Orthopedic Surgeon says that my left knee is totally shot and I need knee replacement. However my spine has 2 degenerative disc that they say cannot be repaired due to the severity of bone loss that I have. I take 70 mg of Fosamax weekly and coral calcium daily. My pain management doctor told me I was smart to put off the knee replacement surgery because people with fibromyalgia do not do well due to the inflamation associated with surgery. I have filed for disability and I'm afaid the judge will ask me why I didn't go with the knee replacement option to get me back on my feet again. Is there any publications on this topic that I could copy and take with me to my hearing? Has anyone else had this problem?
