I am not saying CFS is a tick disease but the following really makes me wonder:

There are many reasons suggesting the infectious etiology and, more specifically, Rickettsial-like
organisms of CFS. Amongst those reasons:
    1. Consider the following :
    - CFS was first reported in Incline, Nevada in 1984 (1) and developed into epidemic proportions.
    - Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever originated from the same place in 1916.

I guess it could be coincidense, add the fact that there is a very high amount of W. Black Legged Ticks in this area.

We come by our chronic infections in a variety of ways. Many, no doubt, are carried by ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes.

I grew up in the foothills of the Rocky Mtns. and every year my friends and I had our tick shots in the spring. A tick bit my dog and he was left paralyzed in his back legs for quite a while.

A very large majority of us test for from one to seven chronic infections. I believe infections are triggers and factors in our illnesses but I also believe there has to be a genetic factor as well.

    Love, Mikie
