~ Lay Your Burdens Down ~

    Lay your burdens down.
    He will lift them up.
The full price has been paid.
He shrank not from the cup.

    Lay your burdens down.
    Place them at His feet.
    He will your strength renew.
    You'll find a refuge sweet.

When you won't let them go,
    You crucify, anew,
The One who loves you so.
He bled and died for you.

    His patience never ends.
    His arms are open wide.
    Don't feel you can't partake.
Don't be puffed up with pride.

    Lay your burdens down.
    Carry them no more.
    He's waiting, there, for you.
    He's knocking on your door.

    Lay your burdens down.
    Let your Saviour in.
It's all left up to you.
    Abandon all your sins.

When you won't let them go,
    You crucify, anew,
The One who loves you so.
He bled and died for you.

    His patience never ends.
    His arms are open wide.
    Don't feel you can't partake.
Don't be puffed up with pride.

    Lay your burdens down.
    Accept His love, divine.
Your heart will fill with joy.
    Your spirit will so shine.

    Lay your burdens down.
    Spread your wings and fly.
You'll feel His love so strong
And dwell in courts on high!

    Lay your burdens down.
