How about a new game? We can post songs with lonely, lonesome in the title or lyrics and then find songs about friendship, happiness in the title or lyrics. (We certainly don't have to be lonely on our boards!) Yea ProHealth! :)

    Hi Kiddo

Great idea. I suppose the ultimate friendship song is "Friendship" by
Cole Porter. We all remember when Lucy and Ethel sang it.

If you're ever in a jam, here I am
If you're ever in a mess, SOS
If you ever feel so happy you land in jail, I'm your bail
    It's friendship, friendship, etc.

And there's a song from The Unsinkable Molly Brown that you can see
on Youtube. Saw Debbie Reynolds and Harve Presnell do the show in
Long Beach. "He's my friend, to the bitter end..."

    Moon River
My Huckleberry friend. Great tune and lyrics from Henry Mancini
    and Johnny Mercer.

My Old Saddle Pal by Gene Autry and some guy whose name I can't read
    cause the font's too small.

My Buddy. This is usually regarded as a song from WW I, but I just read
it was actually written a few years after the war ended. Been recorded by
Gene Autry, Kate Smith and dozens of other famous singers.

    So long, Old Pals

    "Let's Be Friends"

"I'm the Lonesomest Gal in Town"

"What a Friend We Have in Jesus"

    "You'll Never Walk Alone"

"Love Me or Leave Me" and let me be lonely...

OK, Friends, here's a twofur. Loneliness is emptiness, but "Happiness Is You."
Written by two J. Cashes. Johnny and June.

Lonely Street. Recorded by Patsy Cline and Andy Williams and many others.

Where the Blue and Lonely Go. Recorded by Roy Drusky.

Barney the Dinosaur theme song has the word "friend" in it 3 times.

Lonely Eyes. A song I came across on Youtube. Doesn't really
have any eye appeal (or ear appeal) to me though.

Thee I love from the movie Friendly Persuasion. Composed by
Dimitri Tiomkin. Recorded by Tony Perkins and Pat Boone.
The movie is from the 50s. Starred Perkins and Gary Cooper.

I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry. Another Hank Williams song.

My Best Friend, a hit for Tim McGraw in the 90s.

My Friends from the musical Sweeney Todd. You can hear it
sung by Johnny Depp on Youtube. What? Johnny Depp can
sing? Well, no, not very well anyway.

The Halls of Ivy. Although the word "friends" does not appear in the
lyrics, the song is about saying goodbye to friends. The song, BTW, is
not really from a school. It's from a 1950s radio show, later a TV show,
that starred Ronald Colman and his wife who was an English actress.
Trivia: one of the cast members was Elizabeth Patterson who later
played Mrs. Trumbull on TV's most popular show.

Mrs. Trumbull was Lucy and Rickey Ricardo's neighbor. GB
