    'ello,
I live between Windsor and London Ontario but am willing to travel anywhere in the province for a doctor that
TREATS CFS. I have had this for nearly 3yrs and have had no help with my GP here. Pace, think positive etc etc....well here I am 3 yrs later, still ill. So I truly believe that this illness is an imbalance in the body, and if I had a doctor who was interested in taking the time, I would be a completly willing candidate to take any tests, medicines etc that was needed. (Instead of antidepressants and pain killers......that's just a band aid and there's not enough prozac in there world that is going to make me PHYSICALLY better!)

I'm fed up, and I really need to sort this out once and for all. I'm 30 and prior to this, was fit, active, happy and healthy. Any help, advice is appreciated!

    Thanks.
    Shan

I see a Dr. Kathleen Kerr, also in Toronto. She is a GP but only treats chronic illness. She shares office space with a naturalpath and they also do intravenous vitamens and minerals.

She does charge around $400 for the first visit but does a lot of tests, hair anaylsis, full physical you have to fill in an extensive questionare, stool sample, urine and compiles it all in a report that you can take home. She also works or talks to Dr.Bested.

After three years with no help from my dr she diagnosed me with candida and mycoplasma pnemonia. Candida is gone but still struglling with mycoplasma. Sorry for my typing but this is my shaky time, should go lie down.

Sorry forgot her info: Dr Kathleen Kerr, 1849 Young street. 416-489-4445. You can call and they will explain everything better than I.

Good luck Maps[This Message was Edited on 03/02/2006]

    Thanks for the info!
Would you say you have improved since treatment with her or about the same?

I see Dr. Bested and Dr Beaulne at the Integrative Care Center of Toronto. I know there is a waiting list there and you see Dr Beaulne ( ND) first but they are very good. I can honestly say that I have improved since going there. They really know their stuff!
They also run Education and Support groups there and you don't have to be a patient at the clinic to go to the groups.

The contact info is in an earlier post.

    Good Luck
    Kathy.

Thanks for the tip - I will call and arrange an appointment, she seems to know her stuff from what I've read here.

Out of curiosity - how long have you had CFS and how much would you say you've improved since seeing this Doc? What was it that made you feel better?

    Thanks again.

I have had FM/CFS for almost 15 years. I didn't start seeing Dr. Bested until 4 years ago. Although I had a Rheumatologist who was sympathetic, I still was only getting symptomatic treatment.

With Dr. Bested, I have had a lot of testing and have done many treatments, including detoxing for high mercury levels, thyroid tx. Transfer Factor, sleep study, many diet changes and supplements based on my individual needs. She also is very keen on pacing yourself.

You should do better since you have only had CFS a short time. ( It probably seems like an eternity!) You will need a referral for the clinic.

    Good Luck
    Kathy.

P.S. Dr Bested has just had a book published but it is out of stock at the moment. If you are interested, watch Amazon or your local Chapters.. K.

Thanks for the info. Very interesting. I know a few people with FM too so I sympathize. I hope you find better health in your next 15 yrs :)
I hope I can find out what the underlying problem is that is causing the CFS so strongly.

    Thanks again,
    shan
