Looking for a supplement to help with energy. Any ideas?

    I currentlyh take Vit D3, and a multi-vitamin with herbs & stuff that was reccommended by my eye doctor and I take flax seed oil caps.

    Hi Bead,
    Something that has really helped me a lot with energy is 5mg. DHEA. It's a hormone and your suppose not excede 5mg. I got mine at vitacost because they have a time released capsule. It single handedly has done more for my energy level than anything else.

    Some things you might try:

    d-ribose (as Jam said), 1/2 tsp. every couple of hours - also caffeine increases its effect

    B12 (preferably sublingual), together with a good B-complex

    l-carnitine or acetyl-l-carnitine - 1,000 to 2,000 mg. per day


    Malic acid and magnesium

    My DHEA level wasn't low but some of my other hormones were screwed up. If your hormones are out of whack you can mess your hormone balance up even more if you take the wrong thing. Make sure you get tested first.
