Hey wonderful folks. So I figured this would be a good place to ask this question:

What does "alkaline phosphate" levels mean in relation to health?

I'm looking through my labs (and older labs) and I keep coming across the same thing ... a low level of alkaline phosphate but I have no clue what that means.

    Any thoughts or ideas?

I am not sure if I can help, however, my AP levels were high.

They were investigating some kind of liver involvement or something in my bones. They thought I had Pagets disease.

After an ultrasound on my liver and a body scan everything came out normal.

Eventually my AP levels became normal.

Did your doctor make any comments on this? How low was it?

Hopefully someone will be able to elaborate on this.

    Take care.

    Thanks for the info gapsych.

No doctors have mentioned this to me ... I just found it when I was looking through my lab results. But for the last year it's been mostly below the normal level and I was just wondering if that could be an indicator of what specifically is going on with my body.
