Sorry to be so uneducated but with Lyme Disease is it only caused by a tick? my husband had one about 7 years ago in his leg and they removed it. It started as what he thought was a misquito bite and then it got red and bigger (Camping in Nova Scotia) many deer were spotted. He's healthy...does the tick have to be still inside in order to feel all of these symptoms spoken about?

No, the tick doens't still have to be there. Ticks sometimes carry the illness and if they do and it bites you, then you will get the illness. DId your husband have the bullseye rash? That is a sign of lymes, but only half the people who have lymes get the bullseye rash.

well it did develop into a large red circle and the doctor could see the tick and pulled it out...but that was about it?
