Well, I have been on Lyrica for a month or so, and it has not helped me with the pain at all, as a matter of fact, I feel worse when I take it. I am on (2) 50 mg per day. I find that I have an increased appetite. Sleep deprivation is at its worse, and I feel very irritable. oh, fibro fog is bad too!

I have had 2 episodes in the early morning where I can not bend my knees. Pain is just horrible. Last week, I had to go to the bathroom, and was standing, the pain was so excruciating. Felt like a man! Almost want to laugh now, but was crying at the time.

I have an appt with the doc next week. I have not been on the net to do research in a long time. Any other meds being studied for this horrid dd! Thanks for your input. By the way, I tried Neurontin a long time ago, and got very nauseated! Its like a needle in a haystack, when will we find relief!

    Sincerely

I was on 50 mg twice a day and my doctor upped my dosage to 75 mg three times a day because I was complaining of little relief.

In addition to not helping I feel like I am on a roller coaster 24/7. My sleep deprivation is also worse but atleast I can fall asleep now since my neuro put me on Cymbalta (does not help with pain, but it gets me to sleep).

I too am looking for a better way to manage pain. I think I will ask for a reccomendation to a pain specialist.

I hope that you find something that works.

for your reply. I will ask my doc next week about Cymbalta. Would help if I could sleep some more. Then again, the sleep apnea probably does not help. I have tried those cpaps but can not handle the noise, and they are difficult to get used to. I applaud those that can use them.

I was rather disappointed with Lyrica since there are some who have seen improvement. My docs wife is doing well with it. Wish I was one of those people!!!

Sometimes I think I have a Donkey brain. I have a bag of meds in my closet. Hope, I do not have to go through another!

By the way, are you or anyone else on a special diet. Doc said to get on South Beach Diet. Foods with sugar are like drinking sodas with aspartame for me. But I can not help eat that ice cream once in awhile! Best wishes Tomcollins!

I'm sorry for not catching this sooner..but the board is moving so fast these days. I have yet to get a sleep test to see if I have sleep apena..but I'm not going to doubt it as a possibility.

I get the pharmacist to fill only a 3 week supply when I try new meds..this way I can try them and if they don't work-I don't have a ton of pills and wasted money. But I have quite a collection myself.

As far as a special diet, my spouse is hypoglocemic so I am forced to eat well. I also stick to-no caffiene-this has made a huge difference.

Hope this helps and hope you get some sleep.

    Have you tried Cymbalta?

I take the Neurotin, 300 mg 3 x day, and it really helps. I never did have any nausea with it. Did you stick with yours at least a week to get used to it?

I also take Cymbalta which really helps, too.
