I've been in training but today, the other newbie and I sacked groceries, took them out for our customers, and did a little cart duty in the parking lot. We had a really good trainer. It's hard work but fun. I just got out of my Epsom Salt soak. I know my muscles will be sore for a bit. We work without supervision. It's up to us to see what needs doing and do it. I love that.

Toyota called me today for the service dept. valet/porter parking job. I told the guy that Toyota would have been my first choice but that I had already accepted the job at Publix and trained. He said to call if it doesn't work out. I think I'll get raises faster at Publix and there is more job security.

TSA called and wants me to take the computerized test for airport security. I'm going to take the test because the job pays more than half again as much as my current job pays. I would only be able to work a couple of days a week if I were to take that job or I would make too much money ahd lose my SSD benefits. It's part time. I just can't work full time and doubt I ever will be able to again.

Geez, I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to find a job and now, everybody's calling. So far, I've had three hits versus my new state vocation rehab guy who has had none.

Thank you all so much for all your support, prayers, and good wishes. I'm really enjoying this and hope I continue to. Good luck to everyone who is looking for a job.

    Love, Mikie

Glad to hear the good news. Hope things continue to go well. What is Publix? Is it a big store like Walmart?

Guess all those phone calls confirm that a good woman is
    always in demand.

What wonderful news! Doesn't it just uplift your spirit to know that you have options!

I don't know why things come in bunches. Life just seems to go that way! Soft hugs.

Sounds like you really had a physical day...and you did it! Hooray for you.

I guess the people who have read your resume must be seeing the great person we all know you are. I am so happy for you.

Would really be nice if the airport job happens...a couple days a week working and having more money. Praying all come together as it should.

Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. You are a person I am thankful to know, even if it's only via cyberspace. Very fortunate time in history, the communication options we have.

Hope your daughter and grandson have a great day, also.

So glad to hear you had a good first day, was just thinking about/wondering if you'd started or already diverted by the TSA job possibility .... that one sounds really good too.

Well as they say, it never rains but it pours? Seems like the tide turned for you, that is great.

So did you finally tell the state voc rehab guy that he wasn't needed... it'd be great to tell him what a doofus he is... but how does one tell someone else that nicely LOL? not sure there's a way!

Hope it all works out for the best!

Your responses made me laugh and cry. You guys are great! I am grateful to know all of you here.

Publix is a chain for supermarkets which strives to be the best. It is family and employee owned. If I stay there long enough, I think I'll get sock. I forget that they are mostly in the South.

Today, I'm sitting with the heating pad on my lower back. I was told that everyone has horrible pain at first. Last night was about the worst I've hurt, even with FMS flares. I'm hoping this will stop as I get used to it.

Again, thank you all so much for your kindness. I keep you and yours in my prayers and ask God to grant all the intentions for the people on this website.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm so happy to hear that this new job is working out. And you have options for the future as well!!!

I know that I will never work full time again either. I still try to work on a contingent basis and usually it works out but I haven't been in for the past 4 weeks. But I know better days will come and I will be back again. I'm lucky my boss still puts up with me!

My MIL worked in airport security for a bit and liked it. That sounds very promising too!!!

I used to work as a courtesy clerk too, and those turkeys are killers! Try to avoid lifting too many of those guys! I'm guessing that's aggravating your fibro.

I hope the job works out and the turkeys quit selling!

By yesterday, I was feeling much better and the pain had abated quite a bit. I work six hrs. tomorrow and am hoping I won't hurt again like I did on Sun.

Guess I won't have to worry about the airport TSA job. I flunked the computer test. Geez, I used to be soooo good at finding those hidden pictures in "Highlights Magazine" when I was a kid. Well, the test shows different object and then a series of x-rays of bags. You have to state, within one minute, whether one of those objects is present. It's nearly impossible when things are piled on top of one another in the films. One lady, who used to work for TSA had to retest after a leave. She said the test in no way resembles real life and that the test was much, much more difficult than the actual screening. That made me feel better.

I actually love what I'm doing. We work without supervision and there is no pressure. I think those TSA jobs have a lot of pressure with them, along with late night shifts. Still, I felt I owed it to myself to take the test and I'm glad I did. Makes me appreciate the job I have.

I am so thankful for all your support. My prayers go up for all of us every day and I do ask for special intentions that any of us may have, including finding jobs.

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. I am most thankful for everyone here.
