I started three weeks ago taking a calcium/magnesium/zinc supplement. It has 400 mg of magnesium in it. I don't notice any change whatsoever yet.

How long until you noticed improvement in pain? Or am I not taking enough?

HOLY COW! It's gonna take me a while to absorb everything you just's a little overwhelming.

I tried taking two 400 mg tablets a day, but it was causing, I backed off. Maybe I can try adding in some more a little at a time.

    Thanks for all the info.

I get a magnesium IV once a month from my Rhumy. It works within a couple days.

Magnesium will have that side effect as it did on me too.

But I've been taking Immodium for years to help with my IBS-D and all I did was up my dosage from 3 to 4 a day.

Magnesium was well worth adding something for my IBS-D.

I take 2 of the balanced mag/cal/zinc supplements a day.

And to answer your question regarding pain, I didn't really notice it at all at first, it was soooo subtle but it's been a long lasting effect of taking this supplement.
