For the past two months I have been sleeping like a log for at least 8 hrs every night. What a relief. This past 10 days the sleepless nights are starting to recaiam a place in my life. About 10 days ago I added 600mg of malic acid in the am. 30 days ago I started maca root and seriously made an effort to add exercise back into my life. I am questioning all 3. My on off switch has long been faulty. If I work too hard and long the on switch gets stuck and wont turn off. I have been careful to only walk in the am and never more than 30 min at the most. The maca root is unknown. Does anyone have any idea if the malic acid could cause sleepleness?

I can't imagine why malic acid would affect sleep. I am the queen of insomnia, and I eat an apple chopped up in plain yogurt every evening, but it doesn't keep me awake (apples have more malic acid by far than any other food).
Since you are not exercising in the evening, the exercise should actually help you sleep better.
I know nothing bout Maca root. What is it supposed to do? If you are sure nothing else in your life has changed, then that would be my guess, though it could just be the natural ups and downs of this illness. I have driven myself crazy asking "why?" many times, but this illness is like that old joke about the 500 lb. Gorilla does whatever it wants to!

I take my Malic Acid and Magnesium (Pro Energy) before breakfast and before lunch. I have also taken it at night, with no sleep problem from it.

As for as Maca, I am not sure, but I think this is a stimulant, that could be your problem. Try taking it early in the day.

Not only is it a natural "energizer", but it's a Peruvian Aphrodisiac..the natural equivalent to Viagra!!
Hmmmm...maybe we're on to something??? LOL!!!
