This is a long story so I wouldn't paste it, but it is WORTHWHILE reading it.

It's so easy to write this off as psychological, and so scarring to the patient. Who of us hasn't been told that this is all in our head?

I am too moved by the article to write anymore. The book "Shattered: Life With ME" gives more accounts of young people locked away. I am amazed that the woman in the article survived this illness so long.

In order to lock anyone in a psychiatric ward in UK one has to have at least two doctors sign a petition to do so.

The UK has a good record in human rights. If this story is true I am certain there would be a huge public outcry. Politicians in the UK are ordinary people and not as bought and sold as here, and they are quick to intervene.

I would like Prickles to see what she can find out about this, as she has ME and is right there in the UK.

There are groups here who are trying to scare people re socialized medicine to protect the big insurers here, so let us check and see where this originated.

This came from a site seemingly based in Australia (?), it was posted on a "Links" page. See below.
