I had to go see a urologist recently for a kidney infection, and even after various tests (culture, ultrasound, etc.)he said he found nothing unusual, and that the kidney infection appreared to be gone, finally. I asked him why I was still feeling the pain in my lower back, and if the fm could be causing the pain to remain even though the infection was gone.

He said "No, fm affects your joints an cannot cause anything like this" "Have you ever had any muscular injuries or problems in my lower back that the infection may have caused to act up?" At this point I kind of laughed and excused myself from his office. Obviously this guy doesn't have a clue!

My gp is a wonderful doctor, and does everything humanly possible to make me comfortable. I have an appointment with her tomorrow, and will be sure to let her know this guy is not anyone I ever want to see again! He must've gotten his medical license out of a cracker jack box!

A friend of mine was having trouble and was sent to a Radiologist for an x-ray with dye. The Doctor came in afterwards and told her that her kidneys were just fine. She asked him if both of them were fine and he said yes, they are both fine. She got the heck out of there and went straight to her regular doctor to complain, because you see, she was born with only one kidney!
I wonder if this doc was the twin of yours?
    In empathy,

I am chuckling...I have a urologist---ask him a question pertaining to anything else, and he yawns, points down the hall, and tells you the name of the specialist to see. Even if you can see a correlation between your health, and all the systems that must function TOGETHER, these specialists have tunnel vision.
Okay Klutzo, you are scaring the hell out of me.
    I have a horror kidney story--plus some.
May--ER in New Orleans discovers a 2.5 c.m mass on left kidney in xray--renal ultrasound, and catscan confirms it, during an ER visit while passing a kidney stone.
Return home-hospitalized in my small local hosp. with kidney infection 104.7 temp for 4 days.
Discharged, Call my urologists who treats my chronic UTI's in large hospital--tell him mass found...need an appt.
FOR 2 MONTHS--I could not get in....
Records from New Orleans ER requested and sent...first time
Records from New Orleans ER requested and sent ..second time
as my Urologist or the "BIG fancy Hosp." lost them....
Renal Ultrasound, Catscans with and without contrast, MRI...scheduled.....months apart (all overbooked) wait weeks to see Urologist....for outcome.....Now it is October!
Finally an appt. with him---He asks me.....what did the other Doctor at His Hospital, tell me about the 9 cm. mass in my abdomen????? A Doctor of Internal Medicine--I was forced to see...cuz I couldnt see the urologist.
Picking myself up off the floor.
Tommarrow--November the 11th---I am seeing Doctor about a 9 cm mass that was discovered in my abdomen 6 FRICKEN months ago......that has not been addressed.
On November the 22nd---more Cat Scans of the Kidney....
Hey, at least my family is going to be well provided for ....for life :)
    Now.....who's eating cracker jacks....Simoriah!!! lol

Geez, with horror stories like this I feel like we should be sitting around the campfire toasting marshmallows and scaring the snot out of each other. Too bad these stories are true, and not some outdated urban legends.

As for me, I am off to work, then to my gp. I may stop and grab something to eat along the way...I suddenly have a craving for Cracker Jacks!!

    Have a wonderful day everyone,
    Sim
