My Daughter has both Fibro and Lupus and Meniere's... her Rheumy just added 50 mlgs of Atarax for her to take at Bedtime.. this is a medication that is given to a lot of patients before surgery.!!!! it acts like a binding agent and makes your meds stay in your system longer.

its one of the least expensive meds available to us.. it also doesn't interact with other meds you might be taking.
not only has it helped her sleep but it has cut her pain on a scale of 1 to 10 from a 10 to about a 3.. she is very happy that shes getting the rest she needs at night. now instead of being up after 2 or 3 hours of sleep she can get about 7 hours of sleep...

Dr's are not forth coming about prescribing this because they don't think of it out of the Hospital setting.. but if you ask they will usually prescribe it.. hope this helps a lot of you who have the pain and insomnia problems.
