    Hi All

My GP doesn't seem to be too interested and seems to have little knowledge of FM. Nothing worse then when you ask a question of a professional and they sort of screw up their nose and shrug their shoulders.

I guess I am seeking out members in Melbourne, Australia who may have a good GP who is familiar with Fibromyalgia syndrome and at least seems to understand what I/we am/are going through.

    Any suggestions?

    Amanda,

Instead of looking for another GP, is there a Rheumatologist close to where you live that you could see? Fibro is in their specialty, and they should be able to help you.

    Take care,

    Hi Jilh,

My Physiotherapist picked up the possibility of FM and refered me to my GP. GP refered me Rheumatologist for assessment on advice from Physio and Rheumatologist confirmed, gave advice and refered me back to GP for management. GP sort of snorted and said all very well to do that when there really was no treatment available so to speak and it was all hit and miss.

Maybe you are right. Maybe I do need to go direct to the Rheumatologist.

    thanks
    Amanda
