Anyone else? I also can't take the triptans. Any body else in the same situation? If so, what did you do to get relief? Personally, I fell like cutting my head off, I am sooo miserable. I am getting a new splint next week-- so it may help the TMJ but what is it with the migraines and sinus infections? If you can offer any advice I'd appreciate it.

I also have been diagnosed with TMJ and have sinus issues. I can rarerly breath through my right nostril. For years I was getting the most intensely painful headaches imaginable. I called them face pain because they just didn't fit the description of a migrain.

I've been to the ER many times seeking relief but they never helped.

Only after 15 years did I finally get what I believe is an accurate diagnosis. It's called Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN). Mine is a severe case. Then pain is always there in a dull form but then it intensifies in 4 to 6 week clusters and it is the kind of pain that makes you want to end your life.

The key to relief for me is nerve block shots. They have taken the pain away. The last shots I had were in March and the pain hasn't returned yet.

I hope this is helpful. I don't know if this is what you're experiencing but if it is I thought you should have this information.

    Take care!

What kind of doctor diagnosed you? I have been told to see a neurologist. I may have to do that to get relief. Thanks again.

I was diagnosed by a pain specialist but I am also going to see a neurologist and get an MRI.

I may also have some form of neuropathy because I get a great deal of pain in my hands, feet and back which is relieved a bit by Neurontin. It is definately a different pain then the TN though. More of a deep ache.

I think seeing a Neurologist is a good thing for you. I was getting Abx for sinus infections about 3 or 4 times a year but the ct scans always showed no infection.

Nothing helped until I had the nerve block shots. Believe me, I have tried every kind of pain reliever out there and nothing touched that pain.

And, for me, heat only intensified the pain. I had to be in a cold dark place, sitting up. I would just moan.

Does this sound familiar at all to you?

Some of it does, except heat relieves my pain. Cold makes it worse, even the air conditioner bothers me. Sometimes I am in the car and its hot and I have to turn it off b/c the pain gets worse. Good luck to you. I'll be making my appt. next week.

I get the sinus infecitons and end up with the Medrol dose-pack or Zithromax.

I had a bad infection of candida when I was being pumped up on antibiotics.

    I lived on Nystatin.

    I am so careful now.

I hope all works out for you.
