I posted a question about a blood test a few days ago.
I was very surprised by your response. You said you were
"amazed" that people "come" on here and ask "such" questions.

It was my understanding that this was a place to ask
    real people questions.

Did I misunderstand the meaning of this message board?

I'm sorry; I didn't mean to imply that people can't ask about things here. It's just that we shouldn't have to come to a public message board to find out what test results mean. Our docs should be telling us and if not, we should be asking.

I can understand someone coming here and saying that he or she had an abnormal test result and wondering about others who might be in the same boat, but there should be a basic understanding of that result before leaving the doc's office.

I'm not blaming anyone. We are often too sick to remember to ask questions. Our docs are too busy to stop to explain everything and in many cases, they probably don't believe their patients understand or even care. Many patients just want a magic pill from their docs. We have to educate our docs and let them know we need to be heavily involved in our own healthcare. My anger is with a healthcare system which would allow this to happen.

    Love, Mikie
