Million Dollar Question MS or Fibro/CFS???????

I do not consider myself "officially" dx'd, I am still bouncing back and forth Rheu/Neuro/Rheum/Neuro - Ugh. They were thinking MS, but my tests have come back normal. One doctor said it "might" be Fibro/CFS.

I do feel like it is probably one or the other. When researching the symptoms on the internet - I could see that they both share many symptoms.

There are a few that I think are more MS and was wondering if these could also be Fibro/CFS. One is that I get a numb patch from time to time in my groin area, stabbing pains and blurriness in my right eye, sometimes it is more subtle in the left, but mostly the right. Almost all of my symptoms, which started with Trigeminal Neuralgia, began on my right side. Also, there are times, when I walk like I am drunk - not too often. Usually that is brought on by overdoing it. Overwhelming weakness in my legs, I can barely put one foot in front of the other, like they weight 300 lbs. each - the same for my arms. Especially my forearms. Literally, there have been times when it was too much to even prop my arm on a pillow.

This is longer than I intended - I hope you can help.

    Thank you so much

Well Fibro. and MS are a lot alike. They have a lot of similar symptoms. There are a lot here with Fibro. that have vision problems from time to time. I do know a guy that has MS and he has those drunk walking spells like you described. I think there are lesions on the brain with MS. I think some have lesions w/o MS, but I think they are different or more noticable when you have MS. Maybe you need to have a brain MRI. I dunno, but sounds like you could have one or the other or both. Has any of the doctors mentioned an MRI of your brain?

for Lymes, Lupus, B-12, Thyroid. I had tons of blood work.
Also, MRI's, emg and lp - all clear.

I think it has come down to MS or Fibro/CFS. I have an appt with an MS specialist at the University of Miami in a few weeks. I hae been so disgusted lately, that I have considered canceling. I am still on the fence with that one. I have been to two rheum and 4 Neuro. The most common denominator, is that most initially think MS until the tests come back clear.

    Thank you for responding.
